MA Frog Man
I understand that it takes longer to go around the circumference of a bigger circle. But that is assuming that you're using the same speed every time which isn't humanely possible. Sometimes you reel faster or slower whether you realize it or not. I'm just saying that over time it probably equals out and doesn't make a difference. This conversation could go on forever though haha. I have 100mm handles on all my reels and love them. That's all that matters at the end of the day since we're probably all better at fishing than science haha. basskickinrednick, BigSlant, swole_t and 1 other
carlsbadbassin89
I just got knobs only in the mail for my Calcutta 400B and they don’t fit because that handle has no bearings and the varial knobs needs 2. So now I need a new handle

Those bushings would be the same size as bearings if they were there, the size is 4x7x2.5mm. You got the knobs made for the stock handles that just came out right? If you bought the 'regular' DRT knobs they only fit the shafts on the DRT varial handle.

What would the difference be? Everything is in Japanese so idk. It came with directions with 2 different diagrams and I believe one is for Shimano and one is for Daiwa. At least that’s what XXLBass said. He used the bottom diagram to get his on his daiwas. I was going to see if they fit my Lexa. But the Shimano needs a new handle with straight shafts I believe. I like the drt knobs I just have no desire to spend ~$200 on a handle so the new set of knobs made for stock handles caught my eye. They don’t work with stock Calcutta handles because these handles have no bearing and it has to be a 2x bearing type knob. The shaft gets wider on the base where it attaches to the handle so it blocks the drt knob from going down all the way. It needs to be a handle with a straight shaft to fit all the bearings. I’m in talks with Roger from Hawgtech and there handles are like $60.

I'm not 100% sure how many of the pieces he used.

The only way for them to go all the way down is to not have the bearing on the bottom but that would be so bad for the knobs.

Do people do it for things like the revo toro beast which come with 3 handles? I had to get a new handle for one of my reels because it was a high gear ratio with kind of a short handle. The way the reel was set up would be fine if I were throwing low resistance baits like a plastic worm. But since I’m using it for swimbaits, especially high resistance swimbaits like lipped ones, it needed a longer handle to create a greater mechanical advantage, like one of the guys said. I went from 90mm to 105 and there is definitely a noticeable difference in the amount of force it takes to turn the handle. carlsbadbassin89

So those knobs fit directly on the hawg tech handle? plug and play? Any clue if those hawg handles will fit on a Calcutta D? Can't find much info about the D's but i feel like with the star drag on the outside of the handle, it wouldnt work
