253caster
Hey guys. Ive gotten a lot of questions on IG about the Fury line by Dobyns Rods so I figured I would do a review on the ones I own. I started with a quick review on the 735c last week and today I went a little bit more in depth on the 795sb swimbait model. If your curious, please check it out! Thanks. RyanPerrey
Dope! I love that rod.
Freefall
Thanks for the review. I'm just getting into throwing bigger baits and will definitely give it a shot. I have several Furys and have been extremely impressed with the quality and action. I don't think there's a better rod in that price point. Jkling12
Ive got it narrowed down to this and the 806. Going to double as an a rig rod so thinking the
253caster
Really it cokes down to how heavy of rigs you plan on throwing. Anything over 4oz id go with the 806. I throw a 5 oz bait on the 795 and it seems a bit underpowered.
Jwp90
806 gtg on top hook baits? Hudds baitsmith mags stuff like that.
Brennan4588
I use the 795 fury to throw rigs and topwater, have been very pleased especially for an 100 dollar rod. 253caster
Brian C
I have the fury 806 and it is definitely more on the moderate side so just keep that in mind for jig hook baits.
Dangerfield
I caught your YT video searching for reviews on the 795SB - nice review. I'm torn between 795SB and 806SB. I have a handful of 1-1.5oz swimbaits that I want to keep in rotation with the addition of some 2-5+oz lures. Does anyone have experience throwing lighter gear on the 806? 253caster

I really don't like throwing less than 2 oz on my 806. It can do it but the rod doesn't load up enough for it to feel in control. With that said, throwing over 3.5 to 4 oz on the 795 sucks. Really depends what baits you think you'll throw more. Just do what I did and end up with both! I still want to purchase a full cranking and frogging set up this year, so I gotta pick one SB set up. Due to the species where I fish, I'm avoiding soft plastic baits. I can stand to lose a few Keitechs, but as much as I want to throw Hudds/Magdrafts, on a scale of 1 to 10 the likelihood of a pike drive-by is sitting around 15. I'm looking at 7" MS Slammer, Jackall Gantia, Dowz Swimmer, Gantarel, Mikey, Megabass Vatalion, iBrake and Grenade, BBZ-1 8" and 168/200 s-waver. So mostly glide baits, few cranks and natural swimmers. I think the BBZ 8", Gantarel and Dowz might be pushing 795SB but just about everything else will work. drewmoniz

The 8 inch BBZ will definitely be pushing it but you should be fine with the other baits. Dangerfield
