FayarCustoms
Looking to upgrade from a flipping stick to an actual swimbait rod, as stated in the title, I really like the okuma 1-6 oz rod. My question is even though the oz rating is for 1-6 oz, would this rod be to stiff to realistically throw things like the s waver 168? Thanks -Lou
Volfan
Nope - I throw. 168 on mine all the time. Actually a great rod for it once it breaks in a little.. NEbucketmouth19
basssavage24/7
I have the xxheavy guide selecte a series its rated for 5 to 14 oz but I say its more 2.5 to 10 Oz's haven't tried to cast anything over 10 on it. It could handle a 14 oz bait. But in my opinion you need a longer rod for those 9 plus oz baits to get more distance cast control and just make handling a bait that size more enjoyable casting all day. danthefisherman
My bro has the heavy and I can see it throwing lighter baits with ease. Super parabolic and loads up well.
Tinos240
Had one of these and it is a good treble hook bait rod cause of the parabolic bend, even the daiwa dx mh would be a good one for it...
NEbucketmouth19
IMO the rod should be rated more like 1 - 4 oz. I fish both the 168 and the 200 on it and it does fine with both. Light baits it does fine with and like others have said it is very parabolic.
