MaineBassin
Being relatively new to swimbaits, big baits at least, i kind of figured i would get glide baits and ms slammers. Surprised with the gill recommendations. i thought they were more "seasonal". Also, those saying hudd ROF 12, do you fish deep all year? I would think it would be tough fishing that up shallow. Keep them coming guys.

swole_t
Deps 250. It can be tuned so it’s like more than one bait

biggfeast
3:16 Minnow in all honesty. Can fish as top water, slow sink, or on the bottom. Also Weedless so easy to fish anywhere. Pretty much can tackle any situation so it’s my pick.
sammer_
Definitely a Hinkle shad. I feel that you can fish it shallow or deep, fast or slow as long as you are patient. It also has a bigger profile than a 250, which in theory would yield a larger fish. But they both produce. If I were to change region I think I might go with a different pattern depending on the region, but still the same bait.

MaineBassin
Thank you everyone for replying. The reason I made this thread was kind of two fold. One, I'm just getting into bigger swimbaits so I was curious what that one lure you successful big bait fishermen couldn't go without. And second, for someone new to the bigger baits it tells me exactly where my concentration should be for buying baits. As we can see, a glide of choice and a slammer would work for most everyone year round. So for those of us on a budget we don't need to spend a ton of money to get into big swimbaits. Also by concentrating on just a couple baits, we can really learn them and become efficient with them. Making us a better fisherman.
FishDr
9" single joint Slammer - most likely a regular waking one but if I was forced to use a crankdown version I wouldn't cry. Much. yev14
