Has anyone checked out the Crossman Hippo? It has a larger profile than the shell cracker and is designed for Wake n'Crank. It looks promising, just looking for some input on the subject. Thanks!

I have one, definitely worth the $. You can adjust the sink rate which is nice.

Maybe a black dog wooden shellcracker?

Both of the Shellcrackers will do the trick (wooden billed and the G2). I just modified one of my OG wooden shellcrackers with a bill and while I didn't get the angle quite right for a pure wake bait, it definitely can be used as a wake and crank.  It also catches fish - I gave it a second test swim Saturday night and caught 5 bass on it - no giants, but enough to make it clear that they'll eat it.  If you can find a billed Shellcracker, snap it up.  You could also modify an OG wooden one, but that's a bit more work for sure.
