Craig
Hi all, it’s been a while since I posted. My season was dismal. I started off with a 1st and 3rd place in my regional tournament series but things went downhill from there. I managed to cling on to 6th place overall though which was good enough to get me into the South African FLW Small Craft Final. Top 4 places qualified to fish the FLW Costa Series Friendship Tour Final on Guntersville in November. It was a tough Final (only 4 anglers got bag each day) and I was well off the pace. However, 2 young brothers from my region made 1st and 3rd place and will be flying off to the USA in under 2 months. Besides that fact that both are really good sticks they are also fantastic guys (humble, honest, gentlemen and Christians). They are well rounded anglers but both throw swimbaits when they can and I’d like to make them a few for the tournament. Any advice on swimbaits for August on Guntersville will be greatly appreciated - type, pattern or techniques. Also, if anyone (a) knows a tackle supplier who might be willing to sponsor them, or (b) is familiar with Lake Guntersville and will be willing to give them some general fishing advice, please message me. sluglord
Shad, Shad, Shad, Gville has a pretty large population of gizzard shad so I would start there.

So something like this or more "Sexy shad" with black dot and chartreuse stripe? bchalk22

McFISH
I am a guide at Guntersville. November can be a great time for swimbaits. I’ve always done well with a 6” bullshad that time of year. We have a lot of gizzard shad but we also have a ton of the threadfin as well. Baits under 5-6” I like in a threadfin pattern or sexy shad. Anything bigger I like a purple/black back or more like a gizzard pattern. bchalk22
