VolunteerSwimbaits Posted November 2, 2018 Report Share Posted November 2, 2018 Boy it has been a rough 5 months, only 2 bites previous to today, i felt like today would never come.. I went to a local lake to try out a lure that i made today, and it didnt work at all. Instead of letting that discourage me, i tied on a swaver 168, and let it blast down the side of the dock. First cast i pull out a 1.8 smallie. I was shaking, and thought this is as good as it is going to get. A few minutes later i was tossing around the second and last dock at this spot. My brother (who doesnt fish or know anything about fishing) was standing above the dock watching the swaver swim and he starts freaking out. "Dude theres a huge fish below your bait!" I dont believe him and keep swimming, but then i see it myself, but before i could get him to commit, he peeled off amd swam away. A few more minutes pass, this time i am throwing a mattlures strong shad. Out of nowhere, and three feet in front of me, about a 2.5 smallie hammers it, but misses the hooks... at this point im thinking about buying a powerball ticket. A few minutes go by, and we are about to leave, so i take one last cast where the bass peeled earlier, and this time he committed to the strong shad. 4.01 lbs. Not a pb, but either way, best day fishing ive ever had. I think my face says it all. Haha.. All of this within 30 minutes, need less to say, I AM A BELIEVER. Hero or zero baby.
