chefchris
Up here in New England it’s a great color. The hudd 68 in yellow perch was my go soft bait a few seasons ago. Yellow perch 9” slammer was the only color I’d fish for a while as it outfished al my other colors. Cant really say much for that color in Florida except it probably looks like a baby peacock bass. bassbass
Like Chris said ...up north yes. In Orlando no. I think there are only a couple of places in Northen FL that has perch. Will a bass hit it...yes but your chances may be better to match a bait fish that is in the pond you are fishing. No peacock bass in Orlando Edited September 26, 2019 by bassbass Bigwilliestyle and Jackon Gill
Harshwaters
No.My least favorite pattern actually. Perch pattern lures have not served me well over the years.Even when I threw conventional.Golden Shiner or a Trout pattern for me. 22RangerZ520R
Only time I use perch colored baits is when I go up north for smallies...
bigpoppabass
I have never liked 8 inch perch even in Northeast. No perch swims like an 8 inch hudd. They tend to be darters so a 6 inch might work better because those tend to swim faster. Have only seen reports on smaller hudd size. big swimbait dog
I use the 8in perch out west on the Central coast but I don't think color matters as much as we think. How many times have people thrown a trout colored hudd in lakes that have never seen trout and slammed them. I say sling it yev14
mkohan
If you like it, fish it. It's just a color. I got a few perch colored baits when I fished perchy water. They still work in non-perchy water too. Ain't no perch where that fish was caught. BOZ, Millerst12, Amistoad and 1 other
Chuck
Good mayan cichlid colors- I would throw it and not worry that it's called perch.

FishDr
Yup, I like perch. My #2 color after rainbow trout. I throw trout colored baits in lakes that never see trout and perch colored baits in lakes that have no perch. I think the action and cadence you use with the bait matters more than the color. yev14, Amistoad, Chija and 1 other
