NikLaw1
Has anyone ever tried to remove the paint from a plastic bait like a Klash? Does it "fog" the clear plastic or have any undesirable effects? I have one that I would like to try removing the finish on to have repainted. bassbass
Just fish it, the finish will come off easily Mason, Loganodum38, Willluvstafish and 4 others 5
SethMuffinson
I acetoned one. It got a little “foggy” but that may have been from residual glue from a wrap it had on it. Give er a go. Just check it every few minutes. The actual finish of the klash baits litterally just wipes off after a few min in acetone
Jack
Don't dip it in acetone! Use a q-tip and dip it into the acetone and use it to wipe the finish off. I have done several Deps 175's this way. If you are patient and don't put too much acetone on at one time and don't spend too much time rubbing one place on the bait it will come off and not fog. Willluvstafish
If you're repainting or wrapping just sand it down
rossco7777
If a painter is willing to paint a plastic bait I would hope they could prep the bait for said paint job. I would ask some questions before experimenting with it on your own
Jinxd12
I have done it 2 times, same bait. I wore 97% of the paint off. I used the orange citrus strip from home Depot. Burns like a MF'er if you get it on your hands or arms, smalls good though. I then took like sandpaper and water to clean it up. Did it 2 times same way and still fishing the same bait months later. Rattle can paint job pic, after said process!
