Ira Waldman
What's up SU, I am probably in a similar situation to most of you. At home, browsing the underground, wanting to be on the water, and wishing I had enough money to afford literally anything made by DRT. Well, I had an idea. Not sure what interest there will be but I thought I would throw it out there. It could be very interesting to create some sort of tracker, spreadsheet or market to track the prices of swimbaits. The site StockX does this for limited sneakers and I think something could work similarly for swimbaits. Prices could be determined through sales on the black market and after enough data in generated, users could see what the average price is for different baits. This could either include strictly BNIB or baits of varying condition which could be grouped based on their condition on a scale of 1-5. There would also be very high-end baits such as one of a kind repaints from people like @Bassjak_ or very small batch production baits or colors. What would make this more intriguing is that after there is a drop, this price would drop and people would understand that the older inflated price is no longer accurate. Hopefully this could counteract "flippers." Also, it would be a great bargaining tool within the black market. For the ever so popular "pm offers", the "market price" of the particular swimbait would give someone a good idea of what a fair price would be which would also eliminate most lowballers. Let me know what you think! aholodnick, ricardo, El_Weruso and 3 others
GoblinSlayer
It would fail miserably. Not bashing on your post but most people like me wanna get the most I can get for selling my swimbaits and related gear. And on the flip side of things if I really wanted a hard to get rare bait I'll spend whatever amount it takes to obtain it. Makes the hunt more exciting besides fishing with it. El_Weruso
It just won't work, supply and demand will still be in place regardless of knowing the price lol The day will come were the demand is met and prices will drop. An individual can only have so many of a bait before they realize they've collected them all or can't fish them all CaliBassin
