danthefisherman
I was highly considering trying when they were running up the American River last year. These fish must see thousands and thousands of spinners a swimbait would definitely set you apart. Good luck and let me know how it goes! basssavage24/7
I saw a episode of informative fisherman talking about it. I'm sure it will work since Glide bait are just giant jerkbaits for the most part. My friend was cranking down a ms slammer just to see what would happen. Had a 30 pound king salmon hot on it but just wouldn't commit. Still pretty cool to see.
elinumba10
That’s crazy, the salmon in some of the spots i fish in certain marinas when they come through, they are no more than 3’ below the surface and they chase down all the inline spinners! swimbaitingthe229
swimbaitingthe229
I want to catch salmon one day and catching them on a swimbait might be a good idea. I’d even try a battles shad
Jon P
Little kokanee will fight one another when they're spawning. always thought it would be cool to catch a kokanee on a kokanee glide bait. In japan the guys that fish for Ayu have a lure called the "ReAyu". Which is like a pike spearing decoy with stinger hooks. Ayu are super territorial like the kokanee are, and will get stuck by the trailing treble hooks when they attack the decoy. 253caster
I'm gonna try and get a Coho on a paddle tail swimbait this year. The river I wanna try it at opens in Oct, so I'll report back basskickinrednick
Delta_fisher
Clayton and I were fishing for stripers and he had a big king crush his shiner. Didn’t stay pinned but it can happen.
merkexpress
Only fly fished for them with larger streamers... I broke 2x 10 weight fly rods (for reference people fish for Tarpon with 11 and 12wt)... l don’t usually fish glides in rivers though and I wonder if it would be difficult to combat the current with a glide. Plus with the size of those fish and amount of times they break me off I feel like it could get expensive Edited October 29, 2020 by merkexpress blackdynamite
danthefisherman
I've been trying to get one to eat the glide without success...had a big follow on a red craw crankdown but that's about it. Only the jigging spoon has produced so far but I'll keep trying! This is my first time targeting these fish so I'm still trying to pattern them out.
