Pre-frontal pike

Took a trip to a well-known muskie spot with @ThatKidInNY to try and get on some esox. After grinding all day we finally got on a "pattern" with the pike fishing the magslowl in backpools. I got 2 small pike and a smallmouth, losing many other smallies and another small pike in the process. Will caught the biggest pike of the day by far and unfortunately lost a tank smallie. I also saw a 40+" muskie porpoise in front of my kayak. It was a great time and I'm excited to get out again to say the least

Anddddd another one. Different river, same system. Stopped for 2 hours after work at the local spillway. I know there are some fish of the caliber I am looking for in there just gotta keep trying, still looking to break the 3ft mark

  • 2 weeks later...

More dink pike. Can't seem to break 30, gonna keep trying of course. The bigger of the 2 ate an 8" Mr. Zorba glide and missed but came back for the 7" magslowl as a follow up. Pictured here are 2 of 3 fish from the past week, since the third slipped out of my hands before I could take any pics. Not too bummed since it was another 24-26" and I was happy to see it swim off strong. I love these fish more than anything else though, something about them is just so special to me

I know there not swimbaits  but try gliders with a curly tail like the narcan or phantom

That's my plan once I get some cash for it. Shallow invader is #1 on the list right now though

They'll bite all year but the big ones will show in the fall

Add another. Went 1 for 4 on bites today and had an absolute giant follow my bait to my feet. I knew there were fish that size in here, now I just gotta get her to eat. Getting closer to my goal of a 36+, this fish probably being close to 40
