So I got a question for the swimbait gurus out there. I have a 40 acre private lake on our ranch we share with 4 other people but only one other fishes it. It dosent get fished crazy hard but there are real good fish in it. The fall is normally my favorite time to fish it but currently it’s dog water. The water is low and o just got wind from my buddy who fishes it that we have otters on it now. I’m not the best deep water fisherman so what do you boys suggest?

I’m willing to bet that those otters wiped out your lake unfortunately. I’ve seen them do it before in some of the pond systems I use to fish and have had friends with ponds who had  the same problems. I’d get rod of those otters asap

I’m still catching fish but smaller ones unfortunately, I think the big guys went deep. It’s about 30-40ft in the deepest part so we will see

I fish multiple bodies of water with otters. Lakes and rivers mainly. I’ve found yes they’ll eat fish but noticed they prefer to eat catfish carp or suckers. They will eat bass but I think they choose the bigger slower fish(Carp/catfish). If there’s no inlet/outlet to the water you’re screwed. They’ll eat everything if not and they can move up and down a river system you should be fine. Long deep casts they’re there just hiding. Good luck man.
