FLsharkman
Tried out a new swimbait in a local pond hoping for a nice bass. Ended up with a new pb snook. willlliw, Bassboydave, SumoNinja and 9 others
willlliw
Cool. Didn't know you could catch snook in ponds, is it connected to the ocean?
FLsharkman
No but its close to Fort Myers Beach and I was told that they swam in during the flooding from hurricane Charley. My dad also jumped a tarpon about an hour later.

FLsharkman
It can't be that secret if I found out about it from a youtube video.

whompuscat658
Dude....that is sooo sick! Never caught a snook...tarpon and permit, yes. And bonefish
whompuscat658
It looks like your nonparabolic rod worked? I think you may have been overthinking your situation a bit. When I broke my rod, I started using a bass pro brand graphite series casting rod...worked just fine. Definitely not ideal but you don't need fancy stuff to catch fish that's for sure
FLsharkman
I caught it on a 7 inch tsunami swim shad which is a jig hook bait. I was looking into a parabolic rod for glidebaits but after losing five swimbaits that day I'll just stick with cheap stuff.

Bahama41
One of my favorite species, always fun to catch. Too bad I will never catch my favorite eating fish on a swimbait (Tripletail).
