Stalker Shad 7.5"
5150KokaneeEaters and one other reacted to porkmeatballs for a topic
Here's the new Stalker Shad that I just finished. Adding soft fins was a lot of work, but worth it in my opinion since it adds a bit more realism to the bait. I just got back from a quick testing session, and the swim looks pretty decent so far. I was able to fish it slowly as well as burn it. I guess I'll have to keep chucking the Stalker and see what the fish say! Also, do you guys think that I should make the pupil of the eye horizontal or should I leave it going vertically? Any other thoughts are appreciated!2 points -

Fishing New Hogan Lake?
Seahaecker reacted to danthefisherman for a topic
Anyone on here ever try fishing New Hogan Lake, CA? Tried the search bar and nothing popped up. My brother and I have been looking to fish some new waters but Camanche Lake fees are getting pretty steep...plus I've heard New Hogan has a decent striper bite that I'd love to connect with. Would really love to get on a good swimbait bite if we can. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated, thanks! Dan1 point -

Fishing New Hogan Lake?
danthefisherman reacted to ISO_the1 for a topic
I've fished it. Know a bunch of people who do. Guts get limits of striper from shore pretty regular. I fished down by the dam when it was low as "Not Allowed". Only for a little bit. Its got some good points and deep coves.1 point -

Feathered Trebles
robertehines reacted to ferrulewax for a topic
I would urge you to use some newer fly tying materials, they may be able to provide a good mix of movement and durability. Craft fur, polarfiber, EP fibers, and artic fox, and even rabbit fur may be cool to experiment with.1 point -

Need some ideas on a lake.

You might find a ledge near 20 feet and that might be the holy Grail. The true bowls can be tough. Those fish might suspend out in deepest part using depth as structure.1 point -
Didn’t have my scale, what does it weigh
ACE of Bass reacted to KeepinItReelFishing for a topic
Based on pic and your given dimensions.....5-1/2 - 6-1/2. Next stop.....scale (also spare batteries). Aside from sight fishing.....no one ever knew when that DD was gonna strike. And you DO NOT want to be wondering if you crossed that lifetime / magical threshold.1 point -
Feather hooks on Deps 250
Rodrgsv reacted to Peteisgood for a topic
Personally, I make my own feather trebles. I'm sure most others do as well. Its actually really easy to do. Stop by the tackle shop, grab some thread, a bobbin, marabou feathers (That's the secret to not affecting the action) and some super glue. There are tons of tutorials out there and its really easy to do. Costs less than 10 bucks to do quite a few as well. PM me if you need help or pointers. I'm no expert but i found it fairly simple to do.1 point
