I agree completely. There is nothing in the initial vids that look remotely like anything BUT snagging.

From first hand experience. Narcsistic people like Mike Long and a bunch of others that have gained any fame use it to threaten the people they have used directly and indirectly. They retaliate by using their influence over people and media to make you look like the party at fault. They try to make you look like your the crazy one with mental issues that is jealous of their fame and success. Their defenders come one after another to attack thinking they are defending their "buddy". If Kerr would have came out earlier I can guarantee it would have been far worse for him. Mike Long at that time had the world convinced and some really nice freinds and people I know that he was the nicest guy on earth. As a few told me ,"humble and only wanting to help people". As I have warned people here in the past and one of the reasons I don't post much here anymore. This is same of all the people involved in all the fish beefs supporting and defending their hero's and freinds. Plenty more fraudulant people out their pretending to be something that are not. And plenty of people still out there telling us what great people they are. And if somebody tells the truth on their "buddy" or hero they are willing to attack, ridicule, and shame that person to no end although they are just being used same as the accuser.

Finally got to my mailbox! Its here in austin, its gonna be at ladybird lake tomorrow and maybe friday. I prepped the old boat today to make sure its still working, havent used it in a while. Wish me luck

I’m not even in the tournament scene here in SD and have heard a lot of shadiness about him growing up from some reputable people... I always put it off and didn’t care much cause I never fished tourneys, but seeing the video and reading the article, it lines up with a lot of what I heard 10+yrs ago from others. No matter the case, him taking pics with his friends fish and claiming it for records, plus the video is enough facts for me to see the guy kinda sucks.

Picked up this cool little mouse a few weeks back and have been real happy with its performance. This fat 19” fish went almost 4.5 lbs and came flying out of a weed line to smash the mouse after a few twitches and a long pause.

Only thing that I have trouble with is John Kerr's behaviour throughout these years: 1- Long claims two lake records using photos of your fish (from the article we know Kerr recognized the Poway record fish) but still fishes tournaments with him afterwards? 2- Kerr states that Mike Long was hardly catching any fish in tournaments with him. Why did he keep him as his tournament partner for so long then? 3- Long takes all credit for their big bag in 2005 (making fun of Kerr along the way) but, according to Kerr, he's the one who caught all of the bag. Why continue to fish with this liar that makes you look bad for another 3 years? I am sure John Kerr is a great person, but I find it stunning that he kept on fishing with Long through all these years even though he was that useless...

My guess is the white plastic not only disguises his treble but also helps him see where his hook is so he knows when to swing

If you see the part of the video were he has the rod and reel combo laying inside the boat you can see exactly how we has the hook set up. Its a drop shot rig with a huge treble hook, and he probably put the grub just to disguise it a little bit from people. And at the beggining when he is fishing in front of a tree you can clearly see that he spots a fish and then tries to snag it. There is no defending him.

What's up guys. Just a little update on the build. I think I am finally satisfied with how this bait turns out. Everything is looking good so far, just have to work a little on the clear coat. I moved onto another brand and so far everything is coming out nicely, just a little adjuatment. I have an idea of tweaking it and/or using additives so have a smoother spray. Well see how that goes on the next batch. Lets get to the real deal. Dominick @bigfish85 has been slaying on the wake bite. A couple of toads of you ask me. I'll let the pictures speak for itself.

If I didn't catch a fish I wouldn't claim it as my own, there's no satsifaction in that! The guy steals his buddies fish to claim he got an 18lber and Lake Record, only confesses when he gets caught. A man's action speaks for himself.!!! He's a Liar!!!!! Guilty as charged, he's lost his credibility!!!!

Now I don't feel so bad about not catching fish every trip myself Still a sad thing to hear of any fisherman losing respect for these trophy fish just to gain a bit of attention. Fishing becomes less of a passion and more of a means to popularity. I was first inspired to pick up the big baits from reading a 2009 Bassmaster article featuring Long and his success with swimbaits. I'm still glad for that article, but this definitely puts new perspective on things. All these big guns catch huge fish all the time and act like it's nothing. Some are legit and put in tons of work and others maybe not so much. I just hope that when we all finally get that new pb the moment won't be spoiled by some internet battle of legitimacy. Respect the fish and catch them in an honest manner and the feeling of accomplishment should be reward enough

Well wasn’t on a ds bait but the ds customs rod handled this fish with ease, testing continues on the rod. But the ghost is what I’m really excited about, set myself a goal to catch a legal White Sea bass this year from shore and last night it happened. Fish eat a 1oz reebs lures sassan head paired with a 5.8 keitech, ds customs swimbait rod with a tranx 400. Big thanks to Jeremy Davis for getting down on the rocks and grabbing the fish for me, also for taking the pics. So stoked for this fish.

Nothing big but got plenty of numbers the last 2 mornings before work on the Biggfeast Bomber Wake. I never get sick of those blow ups, no matter the size.

Toxic WnC/Hater are crank downs to about 5ft but can tweak to go a little bit deeper. WnC is wide wobble due to 2 piece. Hater is a tight wiggle since multi joint. I've caught many 2-7lbers on both. DRT TK is closer to a WnC but i don't use my TK for crank downs. Bucca 4x4 was designed to crank down and deflect wood. I've not use one but expect this to be more shallow swim compared to the others.

@Rogervang those are some quality fish for sure! I’d be stoked with any of those fish! I never knew so many people were affiliated with pixelfaceitis, seems like it’s spreading all over the country and no cure that I know of.

If the lakes in Ft. Worth look like the lakes in Dallas, I understand the confusion. When the lakes are murky, blindly ripping the water makes total sense. I see guys gar fishing do it all the time. Having just moved to Tx from California, his sweeping hookset does not discount what he is really doing. When you can see the fish and your white bait 20 feet down, you don’t need to thrash to accomplish the task. This is not fishing. I still want to know how the author knew it was a Mister Twister grub and not some other brand. There are literally thousands of makers of those things.

It's pretty clearly snagging fish to me. You can clearly see where a couple of those fish were hooked which wasn't even remotely close to the mouth. It's disgusting to me and makes me sick, swimbait fishing is tough and that's what makes it fun for me personally, it's a challenge each and every time I hit the water. There's no guarantee that you're going to catch a fish every outing and if it was that way it'd be nice but some of us wouldn't be doing it because at that point just toss a drop-shot around all day. It makes me mad to think of everybody that looked up to him like he was a guru, like of Butch Brown caliber, who is still "the doctor", and all the sponsorships who were also mislead. Pains me to see fish of that caliber because those were obviously really nice fish being treated like that. Those fish were completely foul hooked and left out of water for minutes at a time to take some bogus picture so that he could boost his ego and brand. Another thing that looks super incriminating to me is how he's reeling in each of those fish, as if not to make a disturbance or sound because someone might come over/look over and see what he's doing. He's playing with those fish keeping the rod tip in the water to not cause any suspicion. As far as my opinion goes Mike Long is a no good piece of garbage for all of this and I have zero respect for what he did to everyone and affected and all those trophy fish that he has brutalized over the years.

He's like Lance Armstrong, no real respect for the sport. Just found a little cash cow and did all the shaddy things to stay on top to milk the cow as much as he could.

We are gonna have vendors setting up and getting ready in the am. Weigh in is around 1230 Ian I believe. So the Toxic Day vendors that aren’t fishing will be set up, there will be a few food vendors as well as the rusty porthole a few hundred yards down the levee. We will have games set up and interactive activities for anyone that isn’t fishing and wants to come watch the weigh in. BABC has a ton of cool baits and stuff to raffle after weigh in, as said above we will have a ton of vendors with swimbaits and other goods, food, drinks and just want to have a legit gathering of swimbait and fishing peeps In the community. This might be epic, after the first one was good, pairing with babc and the added support we have seen from the community I think it could be a killer event, one for the books.

Got a used and abused Deps 250 in a trade, I knew when I traded for it that it was ugly. Spent about 2 hours this afternoon cleaning up the skin, and removing the hologram stickers. Found out Goo-Gone works great for cleaning up the skin inside and out. I have some gold heat tape I have left over from when I wrapped electronics in a WRX engine bay. I used it on a nude carp with acetone mod and love it. So tried it on this and like it even more. Pretty dope final product I think! Before and after pics.
