  3. Last night this fish followed my 250 in like 2-3 hours before so I went back to the same spot later in the night and made the same cast along a corner of a dock and caught this NH brute which came in on the @toxicbaitssuck wade hoggs and on my @revelation_rods custom, my biggest swimbait fish to date at 6 lbs 3 oz

  6. Well put the albino to the test and I’d say it’s pass with flying colors fished a newer pond from 1am to 8am fishing was great, for myself and my fishing partner all the fish from 2.5lbs to the biggest at 4lbs 2oz, Scott had the biggest fish of the night which at boat side in of the most aggressive hits I’ve ever witnessed. I had 14 fish on the rat and a very aggressive crappie eat it on the surface, buddy had 12 fish on my 3 piece slammer/pats clone wake. A lot of the fish came on the twitch and pause type retrieve, or wake it for a few few feet, pause, twitch and then hook up. at one point we went 7 casts in a row with fish in the boat. They were all sitting on or around these submerged weed beds/lines. Got to see some epic eats, a few where the fish actually came up and over the rat like how Caesar mentions in his video. It was so good that 1 point we were actually calling the cast and fish, like I’m going to cast right there and get a fish, boom fish on. I dropped or missed 8-12 fish and he missed about the same, if we had connected on all those fish we would of had close to 50 fish in the boat. Thats scott in the pics (I don’t show my ugly mug that often!) going back to tonight to target a different section of the lake with the same type of weed/weed lines

    MASS PB

This season has been good to me. Just recently got a Toxic wake n crank and yesterday (sunday) was the first day I fished it..about the 4th cast in it starts downpouring and I was ready to head back in only after those 4 casts so I'm like okay I see a downed tree I'm gonna send it. Cast out and start crankin' and I feel like I snagged a submerged branch...then it moves to the right! The pond has very clear water so to see a fish like this fighting back with a wnc in its mouth is like a dream come true! 6.1lbs in Mass is a good one for me!

  12. Where: NJ Where-where: Northwest, Sussex area When: 6:30PM - 9:30PM Lures: Chatter-gill, Sea Fly A solid night yesterday on numbers (5 bass) for only about three hours on the water. Good size however continues to elude me. I had it in my head to dig a little deeper in the crates and run some stuff I haven't in a while. A few years ago I thought what would happen if I added a chatterbait style blade to the Mattlures Ultimate gill. Turns out it does something interesting. Yes, it gives you the shake and vibration you would expect, but the main thing it does is slow down the lure and generate a lot...I mean A LOT of lift. End result; You can craaawwll the bait at a super slow speed while easily keeping it on top. In comparison to my multi segment hard wake baits or floaters the action is much more subtle, and unique. I like this rig for glass calm condition with low light. Its just not as intrusive as the big wakes that click and clack with their body segments. Granted, sometimes that's the deal.....but particularly in that super slick, glass calm water the very subtle action of this rig has paid dividends over the years when those others wouldn't get a look. Try it....see what you think. Now, once nightfall came and it got dark-dark I pulled out the Lemire's Sea Fly (5", 3oz). This thing makes the Arbogast Jitterbug XL look like a little toy. Its an all wood bait, line through, with a XXL swiveling barrel for the marine grade treble hook. If ya miss them on that and they grab the tail what they get then is a 4/0 inline hook. Point being your likely fishing this around weeds/cover and both hook propositions are purposeful in keeping your giant on even in those sketchy areas....at night.....where you can't see what they hell is quite happening out there. Another interesting thing I have noticed, there are no subtle strikes on big/XL sized Jitterbug style lures. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE is like a small stick of TNT exploded under the lure. Something about that very loud and deep 'PLOP - PLOP - PLOP'. No slurping baits off the surface with these, its absolute 100% "I'm gonna f'in crush every bone in your body" style strikes!! I truly think this is due to the sound and relating 'swim signature'. They believe that only a violently crushing blow will be able to subdue this meal. Many of my other large wakes....9" Slammer, 3:16 Wake Jr., 8" Mattlures Meathead, etc. I get the lure either slurped off the surface or these minimal strikes. Just something to keep in mind if your of the "I like heart stopping, Jaw's-like strikes in the dead of night" persuasion. And really, that's a rhetorical statement. If your not, leave now. LOL I know most of us travel in the same circles....so if you see is this post over on SU ignore it....its the same. Carl / Keepin'ItREEL Fishing

  14. Scott and I Headed back out Sunday at 1130PM, packed way less gear and less baits. We had a good thunderstorm and heavy rain come thru earlier in the day, so wasnt too sure how the night would play out. Water temp dropped 4 degrees We found em again, same areas, a lot less aggressive but still chewing. Scott had 8, biggest at 3lbs 9oz all on my black pats clone/copy/rip off (whatver you want to call it) I had 11, biggest was also 3lbs 9oz, all the albino rat. Lost two tails due to short strikes or fish grabbing the tail i guess, luckily had a few extras packed. when we fish the moment the first guy hooks up, the other guy grabs the net and leaves his bait out there unless its close enough to get in, So i hook up, scott puts his rods down, hes about half way back on the retrieve, as the boat swings around his bait gets smashed, guess it must have twitched/moved enough to draw a strike, he grabs the rod, so hes now got the net in one hand, rod with a fish on in the other, hes able to net mine, hands me the net, and cranks his fish in and i net his! all in the pitch dark. so now theres two fish and two baits in the net going crazy, were laughing and hi fiving and just in disbelief. crazy stuff. was a great weekend of fishing with one of best buddies.

  30. Picked up this cool little mouse a few weeks back and have been real happy with its performance. This fat 19” fish went almost 4.5 lbs and came flying out of a weed line to smash the mouse after a few twitches and a long pause.

  31. Exactly, everyone seems to be thinking it’s an actual bait, but I would think it’s to see where the hook is, doesn’t matter if it was a grub, senko, ned worm, etc. It’s not the an actual bait it’s an indicator to see where the treble is.

  36. 1st post - kinda long... Saturday I received a new Bull Shad Wake bait in the mail and let the girl friend know how excited I was to test it out. We had a nice date planned for that evening and unbeknownst to her I took the new bait and rod/reel along in the back of the truck. After a nice dinner I told her I needed to swing by the lake to try out that swimbait. She was in disbelief that I was going to fish during our date and I heard about that quite a bit on the drive to the lake haha. I took her to the overlook at the dam (beautiful place and where we had our first fight lol) plus erbody knows the bigguns hang out at the dam. Long story short I proposed and she was surprised and accepted. After some hugging and a picture shoot forced upon some poor strangers smh I did get to fish hehe. Two test casts to ensure no tuning needed and I bombed a cast off the corner of the riprap closest to the dam. It ran sweet and left a great V on a slow retrieve. Half way back I swept the rod up and blow the lure out and two reel turns later an explosion. A nice 2lber was the best celebration I could have asked for. I will be accepting any DRT or Deps 250 lures as wedding gifts...

    Pre Spawn Largie

Went out today with the hopes of sticking a tank today. Started the day throwing the 3 pc pats to no avail. Targeted shallow, deep, structure, nothing. ended up bouncing around lakes until we stumbled across this 150 acre pond in the middle of no where. THE SECOND CAST, I find a nice line of tulles with a lay down right in the middle (mind you old beds are everywhere and sun fish are stacked on top of each other) so I throw my mattlures hammer tail parallel to the edge, as soon as I pass the lay down I give two hard rod twitches with a pause.....BOOM!! Biggest of the day today went 5.2. Here are some pics 02CED8E1-DA78-41AE-9F68-F829F05D57D8.MP4 35A2C079-B2B6-41FB-B710-6A375B13BFBD.mov

  41. So after an accident on the highway a few months ago I’ve been left with a pinched nerve in my neck. Getting out for more than an hour is tough but I do what I can. Only took 15 minutes rolling the bull rat around for this little guy to slurp it down under. Went 4,2 on the scale at 19 inches long. Felt great to hook into a bass again. On a side note, don’t take your health for granted guys, get out there and enjoy it as much as you possibly can. gear: dobyns 806 curado k 6.2/1 p Line 17lb CXX owner st-36 size 1/0

  43. Couple more today waking the TK. It's so much fun when they're in those predictable ambush spots and you get to see them come out and crush the bait. Also had a really good one follow my sly gill which was a tease, but also a good sign they're coming out of that prespawn lull.
