Su a view from the "Top" of the age spectrum of TXC Day 2....as were many, I was looking forward to TXC Day 2, as I missed the first due to illness...as many of you may know, I reported on my cancer diagnosis at that time...happy to report, last week my doc informed us tumors had shrunk 70-80%!!! I was determined to attend TXC 2....contacted Ceaser about camping the the night before, explaining I had a 350 mile round trip, plus I had health issues...no problem , touch base with me when you arrive, spoke with Ceaser he explained the setup and were to park...Upon arrival I realized my age set me apart from others that I saw (2 months shy of 68 )...Wearing my TXC BTS hat i was sitting in the covered area at Russos, I was approached by two younger attendees who asked if i was here here for Toxic Day....so began my 24 hours of the Toxic World of Swim Baiting ...These first two swimbaiting enthusiasts were River & David, who came together, were from Chico area...we ran thru our experiences & exchanged Instagram user acct's...over the next 24 hrs we spent time talking on/off...Awhile later I was speaking with two fishermen who arrived from Las Vegas for the tournament ...I mentioned my drive wasn't as long as theirs, but I'm in my late sixties dealing with cancer when to my surprise one said "SurfK9", I'm "Striper Addict"...it was a pleasure to meet a fellow SU member, Anthony & his partner Kevin...I was stuck with a feeling of camaraderie and belonging...so the evening progressed...saturday evening I was approached by many attendees whose age I more than doubled...no worry, all that I met had a common thread thru their lives, Bass & Swim Baits...Some of the people I met..Ceaser ( of course) who struck me as a generous & humble host, we spoke briefly a couple different times...I was introduced to Brad Kowalski @ Bank Beaters, thanks for the stickers, shirt and lure...more importantly the feeling of inclusion in something special..."BassFishing Is Not A Crime"...Late in the evening I met another SoCal fishermen who was prepping for the tourney Anthony Amato...he spoke about spooling his reels and fishing in general and fishing the Delta...over and over again I felt, at 68, a feeling of belonging to this younger group of enthusiastic fishermen...so the weekend progressed...the main event beginning early Sunday morning as vendors began arriving & setting up...that in itself is another story altogether...approximately a dozen vendors sharing their creations...willingly imparting their perspective on swimbaiting & of the methods of their baits....I realize I'm rambling at this point...all in all I can say the 24 hours of Toxic Day 2 reaffirmed my belief that we can all come together...I felt that I had met a long lost "Family"....Thank you all for including me in something Special...I met many people I haven't mentioned by name ...senior thing with remembering, although my wife says its Chemo Fog, not a senior thing, LOL...michel...Go Fish!!!....included is a pic of items I scored...left to right...a soft plastic line thru shad bait from Jaw Jack'n Baits ( a freebie...thanks guys), toxic Micro-Mink, a couple plastic frogs from Rat Trap Lures, a snack size walking gill from Brad @ Bank Beaters, a three pc Chorizo from Ceaser @ Toxic, soft plastic from Magnum Baits a six inch blue craw and the Toxic Day 2 tote bag.11 points

RFG wake gill fish
biggfeast and 5 others reacted to Ds.attack.rat for a topic
The last two days has been really good to me as far as big fish go. 4 fish over 6 with one that’s def bigger then my pb 8 Pounder but I didn’t have a scale. Fish was about 24” long, massive fish and I’m calling it my new pb, all fish came on my proto RFG Wake .6 points -
Its a longer one, but if you have the time I posted a 9 minute C2C video compiling most of my notable Spring catches. Hit the thumbs up and sub if you like what you saw!4 points

*|MC_PREVIEW_TEXT|* Toxic Day 2: At the end of the month, Ceaser of Toxic Baits hosted the second Toxic Day event at Russo's Marina California Delta. We set up a booth filled with exclusive Toxic Day 2 Snapbacks, SU x Monka FPJ Crawlers, and the new SU x SPBT Shadow Bag. We were also lucky enough to have Matt Hom of 86 Baits with us giving away a Billed Street Carp. You can see more pictures on our Instagram if you missed them. SU Instagram SUB June Winner: SU member Aye Dat way decided to try his luck at night while fishing his first SUB tournament. He ended up landing a nice Indiana bass on his Bull Wake that weighed in at 5lbs 6oz and secured the lead. Ben won himself a SU gear pack. To enter July's tournament please follow the link below and comment "in" before the code is released. SUB July Sign Ups SUTV: SU member kev_swmbt_20 posted up a montage of C2C footage he captured both on shore and from the boat getting bit on his Toxic Whippersnapper. SUTV Got'em: Swimbait_MA_kid noticed a large follower who was not willing commit to his Deps 250 come out from under a dock. He took a mental note and returned a few hours later with his Toxic Wade Hoggs tied on. This time the northern giant crushed his bait leaving him with a new swimbait PB. Check out the Got'em section for more write-ups and photos from our members. Got'em Section Grassroots: Chefchris posted up his latest builds in the Grass Roots section at the beginning of the moth which consisted of a few rat variations. As always, his post was extremely detailed containing lots of pictures documenting his build process. You can see the full thread as well as other member's bait making processes in the Grass Roots section. Grass Roots View full record4 points

Lost my Virginity on a fishing trip when I was 16... Married her... So far this has been my most expensive "loss" due to fishing... And I did cast of a HPH that cost over $150 and waited like 2 years to get it.... but that's nothing compared to the above4 points -
Got my new PB. I was shaking because I thought I was going to finally make the Double Digit club. Her weight just didn't reflect it. The basshole painted these. 6lbs 12oz3 points

Toxic Day 2....a "Senior Perspective"...(wordy...lol)

Nice recap Michel 1st off glad to hear about the update on the big C, any progress is great about 80% is awesome. And yes it’s chemo fog and not your age playing a big part in that. I feel like certain types of fishing just bring people together, mainly at least in my experience it’s surfcasting here on the east coast/New England and swimbaits over the whole country. Its a niche thing and guys that are passionate about it, love sharing it and talking about it all the time. Ive met a lot of people thru this forum and others I use that are now life long friends instead of just user name and avatar pics. Sounds like you had a great time!3 points -

Just started getting into throwing glide baits. Only have a few cheap ones. But I love throwing them so far. Landed my biggest glide fish yet the other day on a flow glider 130. She went 6.2 and hit like a train. Needless to say I just got done ordering some more glides I can’t wait to try out!2 points -

By gone I mean... no longer for sale. Tired of dealing with people who want nothing more than to hack and chisel at fair prices. People get pissy when you put pm offers, people don’t want to pay what you list them for. This is one reputable member who’s done. Peace out SU. I’ll miss the small handful of you who made this page enjoyable.2 points

First two Mini killers weight tuned and assembled. The glide sinks at about 6-7 seconds per foot and weighs 2.41 ounces. The 3pc sinks about 3-4 seconds per foot and weighs 2.35 ounces and are 6.25”. Now for some swim tests, these should be winners...2 points -

PB Spotted bass
Owen Fritz reacted to sluglord for a topic
First off if any of y’all are debating on getting a tiny klash stop and buy one right now, that bait is responsible for my fish than any Swimbait I own. Bombed my tiny klash over an old railroad and about 4 jerks later this spotted bass tried to rip my arm off, fought her to the boat and my buddy netted my PB spot weighing 4.32 capping off a 19.28 day on the Coosa. It was a day I’ll never forget.1 point -

Awesome brief and happy to hear your health is progressing, keep it going man. It is nice to hear how welcoming everyone was, a lot of times we find ourselves competing with one another without even realizing it so when people come together it is a powerful thing. Hopefully I can make the journey out to this event in years to come.1 point -

A new style deps 250 when they first came out. Didnt cast it off though i had removed it from my rod before placing the rods back in the truck, loaded the boat in the bed and placed the 250 on the tailgate or bed rail and forgot it while putting away the TM, battery, cooler etc in the truck drove away with it sitting on the bed of the truck, also got skunked that day and didn’t realize I most have left the bait on the tailgate until a couple days later when I went fishing again and couldn’t find it. Besides that couple 8” hudds due to cast offs when I first started throwing big baits.1 point -

What an awesome bait to get a PB with too, congrats man!1 point -
Got the bait in the mail yesterday afternoon. After looking it I decided to swap out the hooks and rings for some kvd size 1/0 triple grips and some rosco black size 4 split rings. (The stock hooks/rings will be sent with the bait, they just appeared very small and light to me) bait swims nice, has a good clacking sound, cranks down (maybe from the bigger heavier hooks) wakes really easy. Didn’t weight it but seems light enough to cast on a basic set up waited for the heat to die down last night and got the crawdad out around 10pm. Hit the first big cove that always seems to produce. Managed two in there on the BFBW. moved around as a beaver decided to freak out and tail slap the water about 15 feet from the crawdad, guess they have a den/dam on the deep side of this point. Was able to connect with two more dinks before the weather got weird and wind picked up and lightening got real close and forced me off the water (for safety) Catch times were as follows: 10:38, 11:02, 11:11, 1:281 point
