2 PB's in 2 days
wtrwsel and 10 others reacted to Noreaster603 for a topic
Well it was a heck of a few days, landed my new PB smallie on the @biggfeast bomber wake at 5lbs 6oz and then woke up the next morning and caught my new PB largemouth at 6lb 11oz on the woodrow. I guess you could say the fall bite has started in the northeast.11 points -

1st post . PB on wake bait
GoblinSlayer and 2 others reacted to Ecoria for a topic
So I been lurking on the SU for about 2 years now . Haven’t posted anything just a few messages trying to acquire some baits. About 3-4 months ago I made the switch to only throwing swimbaits . Ive always thrown swimbaits but would end up finesse fishing when I wasn’t getting bit. About three weeks ago I got my Pb that went 6.1 . Not a giant but I’m definitely on the hunt to get a new Pb.3 points -
After going the entire summer without catching a fish over 4lbs I finally did it tonight. Had 45 mins to fish after soccer practice and made the most of it. I gotta get back out to that spot soon because those fish were fired up. If I had caught every fish that big I would have a 25+lb bag with a 6+lb kicker, unfortunately those fish missed the hooks. In the end I have absolutely nothing go be upset about, still riding the high, stay stoked3 points

Picked up a cl8 cranking baby possum to fish a select few ponds based on the depth it gets and all the praises from the New England guys. Hit the first pond the other night, was throwing the bait and fishing it up this incline passed this floating dock and it got absolutely crushed on the first cast. Fish hit hard and kept a kept a bend in the F5 908 while cranking it in. As it got closer and I started to swing it around it started grunting underwater and once it hit the net it made a lot of noise. Was bummed it wasn’t the big bass I thought it was but it’s big cat for our area (state record is 4lbs 4oz) and a PB for me so I’ll take it. Fish measured out at 17” and weighed 3lbs 6oz, thing was stupid fat. Had the front hook pinned in the corner of its mouth. interesting thing is my buddy stuck one at the same pond on a deep cranked large nez, about 60 yards down from this spot, weighed just over 2lbs and was 2-3 years ago. Not saying it’s the same fish but interesting for sure Went out this Saturday night (had a good feeling) all the conditions were right, full moon but super cloudy, light wind, light drizzle. Ended up being a slow night, fished 10PM to 4AM for 3 bites (1 on the 3 piece rat-dink, and 2 on the baby possum) Tossed the new lab color CD baby possum (this one only gets down 3’ max) but can wake it and crawl it subsurface. This 13” fish decided to eat it! Crazy what these fish are thinking. The baits 5oz and 14”! Was getting close to calling it but had one more stretch of shoreline to work that usually produces, bombed a long cast, couple cranks in, fish smashed it, set the hook and gave a good jump, at this points it’s pouring out, cranked her in with the rod tip low and got her into the net. Weighed 4lbs 1oz, and had a fish tail sticking out her throat. Super fat and healthy fish. That exact spot has now yielded a 3.8, 4.4 and 4.1 all around the same time of night. Loving this bait lately and will be in high rotation come fall.2 points

A few Toxic WnC fish
Primus and one other reacted to cvanderhorn42 for a topic
Have only had this bait for about a month and a half, but I'm in love lol. Got these guys cranking down just below the surface and ticking the top of the grass. Nothing crazy, biggest was 3lbs 3oz, but still a ton of fun!2 points -

I thought I was going to go home with a lousy skunk but I was able to convince this baby to choke down the citizen 6 before I left. I was so grateful for landing this girl and having another great night, heh it beats work any time. Man the citizen 6 has been fire for me, another shout out to working class zero and their fine baits.2 points -
Roman Made Negotiator swim/sink action
22RangerZ520R and one other reacted to El_Weruso for a topic
Hello everyone, I wanted to provide some possibly helpful info for everyone on roman made negotiators. NOW i need to start off by saying i KNOW they're made by hand and no one bait is ever going to be like the other. I know this, but this will help people regardless to know what swimming style of a negotiator they could be looking at. Also i don't believe this applies to the Roman made mother but it's interesting to see how he's changed the facial feature on the bait, i couldn't find out if the mothers action changed since my green trout mother has been modified (Drilled) too much by this point to compare. Roman Made Negotiators: 1. So if you look at the 2 negotiators in the top side by side frame picture (Side View), you'll notice an obvious distinction in the distance of the gap. The larger the gap the more the bait will tend to jerk rather than glide smooth, the ayu negotiator doesn't glide nowhere near as clean as the wrapped negotiator. Now perhaps the wrap on the right Neg closed the gap some but it's nowhere near thick enough to close such a wide gap. 2. Now if you look at the top view of the Negs, you'll notice a very distinct girth size difference in the back piece AND the angle of the tail pieces are also different. The right picture has a less drastic angle cut compared to the ayu on the left which is far more angled. Again the Neg on the right glides so much more smooth because the 2 sections don't need to travel far to make contact to start the next glide is initiated, as opposed to the ayu with a more distanced gap it jerks a lot farther before the sequence of the next glide changes. Now this could of been 2 very different negotiators from 2 very different times, or maybe the Ayu was made like that on purpose, who knows. But it can help on any future purchases of these baits or other similar wooden gliding baits. One last piece of info i'd like to add is the sink rate, the ayu sinks about 30/40% faster than the wrapped neg even though the bait is in 9/10 condition and barely if any wood is exposed. Hope this helps, if i pointed out something wrong or have any questions feel free to say/ask. Excuse the crappy pics on the ayu, my friend didn't take the pictures with flash lol2 points -

Sold the 1st crawdad I had in 2015. Picked up another one this spring. 2nd crawdad I’ve owned, nothing too crazy, rigged for bow or transom mount TM (picked it up that way) love these things, super skinny water, easy to move solo, can stand and fish all day in it, fishes two guys great. Picked up a 3rd one a few weeks ago for $200, thing was filthy and had dead mice under the foam, took it to the car wash, removed all the framing/foam/decks, rinsed, scrubbed it down with “awesome clean”, rinsed and repeated 2x and power washed the whole thing with clean water, thing looks mint now. Plan is to rig this one up for a solo boat, more open space, move the seat location, etc, etc. winter/spring project so it’s ready for March 2020.2 points

HEADS UP.. Before you get all crazy and write on this post.. Could you please do everyone a favor? I don’t like rumors, assumptions or speculation. I deal direct and know all of the details. If you are not in contact with the owner OF BAITSMITH and if you do have that access make sure you contact him before you write a bunch of NON-SENSE. Please do your research and know EXACTLY what you are talking about. For those lucky few that paid $80 for the non-official/proto-type 9” magnums.. you should of bought a lot more!!! There has been some changes! Relating to the price, the website launch date etc. If your SERIOUS and want some baits then contact me. For those of you that want to get a jump on the fall/winter swimbait bite. I’m taking orders for Baitsmith / Hawg Hunter Baits. Both 9” Magnum and 11” Mag X. PM me for pricing and colors. Prices fluctuate due to volume.1 point
