Collin (cd7) and I had a pretty ridiculous day on Saturday. We fished a NewJen team tournament at Pine Flat lake and we put the wood to ‘em. We’ve had some good finishes this year at that lake with a 2nd and a 1st place finish over the past 2 months. We’ve been able to catch a couple big swimbait fish each tourney so far and we had a good thing going. Well, Saturday came and the full moon came with it. The lake is ultra tough right now with most guys weighing in less than 10 lb limits, but the big spots were hunting trout and we made all the right moves. We ended up with 5 fish for 24.59 and they were all spotted bass and they were all on big swimbaits. Biggest was 7.09 but we had a 6.2, 5.5, 4.5 and a small 1.5 (yes even the 1.5 came on a big swimbait). Just for reference, second place only had 12.18 lbs. but they did have a 7.87 largemouth so they stole the big fish honors from us. LOL! As far as we can tell, it’s the biggest limit in a tourney at this lake since 2007 and most likely the biggest limit of all spotted bass. Fun day all around.4 points -
Many months of effort, 20 hour days and a very sore arm has led us here. We're now considered to be finished with the design and testing phase. The only thing left is getting the aluminum tail mold and this project is 100% complete. Also, our loan was approved yesterday and the moving will begin in 13 days, so I'll have my garage when the time comes to fully release, which looks like it might be within 30 days from this point. Thank you for keeping up with us, I've met some amazing people from here already and can't wait to talk with more of you.4 points

I highly disagree, the TK has more fish for me than any other bait in my life. So good I have backups to backups now! But to each their own!3 points -
Had this monster of a crappie inhale a tiny klash yesterday! Ended the skunk and it was the best fish of the year. Looking forward to spending some more time on the tk as spring warms up2 points

DRT Varial Handle 117
Firebaiter and one other reacted to Eveninglabor for a topic
I have a brand new DRT Varial handle 117 with black WCZ flat knobs for sale. I purchased a few 117 and 110’s in black and silver and swapped the shaft/posts and wheels out right when I got them. So this Black 117 handle has silver wheels and silver shafts/posts as you can see in the photo. Nothing has been used and comes with package and everything included. Price is $325 TYD f&f or you pay fees. Thanks.2 points -

Just got my new rod in and paired it up with my ardent apex magnum it is now the best looking rod and reel. It also feels good with the battle shad tied on. At the bottom of the rod there is a small blue ring that goes around the rod and matches up with the blue on the reel.2 points -

Philadelphia is an absolute nightmare, I had a bait take 37 days to get to Cali and 30 of them it was just in Philly. Still waiting on a rod from F5 that shipped middle of January. Best to just keep in constant conversation with who you are sending it to and raise a claim after a few weeks to put it on USPS radar.2 points -
USPS is still a mess. I recently did a trade with someone in Ohio - he got my baits in 2 days. His shipment to me sat in Ohio for 2 weeks - took a total of 3 weeks to get to me. ‘’Hopefully your buyer is as patient as I am.2 points

Usps has a 1 to 4,653 day transit time. If the buyer doesn't want to wait, you'll eventually have to send a refund.2 points

This is what ive collected in the past few months. Ive had swavers and other cheap swimbaits for awhile but i used to get disouraged after a few casts and no fish. Ive been hard focused on swimbaits only since id say mid summer/fall of last year. Have spent alot of money on hyped/overpriced baits until i started losing them to snags or w.e. this is my collection now. Sold alot that i wish i never did but eh2 points -

I rarely ship USPS, unless it's something that can go first class and doesn't matter if it actually gets there. As far as incoming, USPS has been pretty good to me this year, running on average about 2 days late. Anything outgoing goes UPS, better service and if something does happen, they will actually pay out on the insurance.1 point -

What do people want in glide baits?
StriperAddict reacted to danthefisherman for a topic
I think the most important question is what do YOU want from a glide bait and how can you make it to fit your fishing style/needs on the water. Unless you are building this bait intending to sell, in which case you need to know your intended audience. No single bait will do what we all want...but if there is one let me know I'll buy twenty That said, I personally like actively working my glides with my reel and a little rod movement occasionally. Thus the bait should glide well on reel bumps especially. A wide swim on a steady retrieve is an added bonus. Balance and consistency is critical, but I also like the ability for a glide to get a little crazy/reactive when I work it with the rod more. I love baits that are responsive but also like that wide, lumbering glide of bigger baits where you can feel it pulling your line. I could keep going, but you can already see that my description is getting more and more fanciful. I've fished a handful of glides on the market and they all have their pros and cons. I've tried for years to build a glide that does everything that I want it to and it just hasn't happened, but maybe my expectations are just too high/unrealistic. Good luck and I'm excited to see what you come up with!1 point -

Most overrated bait
Phatcat360 reacted to chefchris for a topic
I think the term overrated varies bait to bait and person to person like for me id say 316 wake jr was one of my best biggest failure baits, I couldn't catch a cold on this thing, fished one hard for 2 seasons and zero fish on it, while i know other guys crush on it. so to me that one of the most over hyped baits I've gotten and actually fished it hard I've bought plenty of other baits that didn't live up to the hype or swam the same as other baits that are more readily available. whats a overrated bait to someone might be someone else's bread and butter bait.1 point
