    Hi SU community! The last 7 months have not always been easy after I lost my job. Besides the always present question of 'what is next' I also had to deal with some physical challenges. During these stressful and exhausting times, fishing has been one of the few activities that has given me calm, enjoyment and helped me to feel better when little other things could. After a long and intense time of countless interviews and rejections I was lucky to got accepted for a great job that I am very excited about! Having gone through the last months have made me realise how important it is to have an outlet that can calm one down and/or provide just some easy relief! I am sure that I am not the only one that has experienced or is experiencing similar challenges (or even much bigger ones). I would like to help him/her/them out and maybe make a little contribution for getting them back on track of life. Hence I would like to pass the following swim bait combo onto someone that could really use it. What that exactly means is up for interpretation, since I am sure there are a lot of people out there that can tell a sad story. Rod: Great condition Kistler KLX XXH Reel: Like new Lews Super Duty (comes with 2 extra spools, that all have like new braid/fluro/mono line on them). Baits: I will throw in also a couple of baits so that you have everything covered and can fish for all sorts of fish and in different conditions Since shipping is an absolute nightmare right now, I would kindly ask you to pick up the combo.     The spring run is in full swing and we have been crushing the stripers. This is the first wave of fish, so it's been mostly small males in the 3-5lb range. But, there have been some better grade in the 10-20lb range mixed in. The glidebait has been doing most of the damage. But, the big topwaters are working in low light and cloudy days. Here's a couple from the last few days. A schemedium on the Megadawg. And a better fish on the 250. With the full moon coming this weekend, we're expecting the big girls to show up any day.

    IF you receive what you ordered (at some undisclosed point…after the owner cusses you out and makes excuses)…and IF what you ordered has proper QC, they are great. IF, you are okay with the first two IF’s, then go for it. Having said that, I would rather put my hard earned money through a paper shredder and set it on fire after using it as toilet paper before I put it towards another Phoney…

    In all honesty, this looks like something I would have done to a friend back in high school. That is IF the internet had been around. Throw his real name and address up on a huge forum and not tell him? Yep. My version of this game was to sign my friends and teammates up for every single piece of junk mail ( physical mailbox kids) possible. They would be complaining non stop about getting a mailbox stuffed full of brochures, magazines, sample products, phone cards, info on hair loss and so on within 2-3 months and I was dying lol. Most of us laugh about it now that we’re older. But God help us all if camera phones and the internet were around back then. I stayed in enough trouble without audio and video evidence.

    BGC has the preorder thing down. Opens his preorder, leaves it open until he reaches 500. Then closes it. Makes a first come first serve list that is about 30 to 40 people per page. Builds the baits strictly off each page in order. Every month or so he ships everything out from that page and moves onto the next page. He's been on point for like 3 years now.

    It was hot out and I was tired, so sitting on the couch and making a bait seemed like a good fit ha! 6.5" no tail yet, kept the scheme simple and sanded the hell out of it to make it smooth for molding. I've learned the smoother the better everything shows in the mold. Smooth On oomoo 30 for a 2 piece mold it can't get any easier for anyone wondering. 1 to 1 mix and feels tougher than the alumilte stuff in my opinion. Not pouring a million baits(no experience yet) with long term usage. Anyways a simple face and lateral line carving fit the bait pretty good I think. Poured the 2nd half tonight and forgot the peg holes, not a huge deal. Mold came out super nice, pretty happy with it. I'll pour a couple tomorrow so I can mess with joint placements and types. I'll try my smaller hardware 1st on this one instead of all the .92 hardware I have before. No real clear plan except for a glide I can fish and not worry about throwing it into nasty places and losing it. I will probably attempt to put a top fin and side fins on and remold it later on for added realism.

    Couple weeks back tied on the big glide and 3 casts in hook up into an 8lber. A few more casts later landed this 10.1 Hit another spot and got a 7.4 lber on my way out stopped at the point where I caught the 2 big ones and had an absolute beast hit the Phoney twice on the surface just didn't get any purchase... I am a newbie to SU and appreciating the info and knowledge of the community....

    Honestly I’d rather sell it to a youthful person who has a passion for swimbaits than a collector who’s gonna hang it on the wall. I’d also rather see younger people slinging baits than playing video games and stuff like that.

    I replaced my small swimbait setup this week. This will be my 1-3oz combo with 50lb braid and a 25lb leader. Kaimana Coastal 794 with a 21 Scorpion DC. The reel has a 96mm Curado 70 MGL handle and the power knobs from the Exsense DC SS.

    So about a year ago I was fishing a Deps 250 that I got on here, BB tuned, and I get snagged on a sunken tree. This place has LARGE gators, so I chalk it up as a loss. Sucks but not gonna die over it. Jump ahead 6 months.. I am fishing that very same spot and wouldnt you know it, there's the 250, sitting on the bank. Dirty as can be, but fully intact. I was sooo stoked. I took it home. Cleaned it up and KNEW it was gonna catch me a giant. So today, I was fishing with the very same 250, when all of the sudden.. BOOOM!!! From the sky drops an Osprey. It dives into the water and grabs the 250. I let the line go slack for fear that I might hook the bird and it takes off flying. Unfortunately, I wasnt fast enought to cut the line and it went tight and snagged the birds leg... It starts freaking out and comes crashing down on the ground next to me. So i start over to it, not know what to do and all of the sudden... BOOOM!! a second Osprey swoops down and tries snagging the bait from the caught bird. Both birds take off high into the air over the water and get locked in a weird spiral of feathers and talons... Eventually one let go but they both flew off together, one hooked and one trying to get the bait. WILD STUFF... I guess that lure wasnt meant to be mine. Really hope the birds make it out ok. If you're in the Myrtle Beach area of SC and you find a Deps with a severed bird leg attached..... It wasnt me

    I had a pretty good stretch of big fish from March 25-31. Got two over 8lbs one over 7lbs and two in the 6lb range, and plenty 5lbs and under. This is a video of all the big fish i caught. Got it done on the Battles Shad 9.0 and Tiny Klash.

    All three of my swimbait rods are three piece rods from F5 Custom rods. One is a MH Departure and the other two are a MH and H set that come from random builds that he drops. No complaints here since they do what I need.

    There's a chick on here who does stickers, can't remember her handle off the top of my head. She fishes smallmouth in the northeast I believe, has the purple and green rods. Hope that helps, it'll come to me and I'll edit this post. @Niki814 is her name.

    Got some more built, messing with making tails from brushes. Kind of a pain in the ass. Need to really order some product to make a proper tail. Threw some paint at a few and I will be shipping some unpainted ones to a few people for some R&R. They are better at paint than me for sure. If I have time this weekend I'll pick up some lexan and mess with lips for a crank down, along with using .72 hardware instead of .92. Just got my 5 gallons of microballons so now I can experiment with calculations to make it float after cranking down.

    Not sure. I haven't been around long enough to know that but I know a lot of reputable people know who he is and why they don't ever really say anything or just brush it off. here's some simple math because I know a lot people still defend these guys and how they do biz. say a 100 bait drop at $180 a pop that is $18,000 GROSS PROFIT. If anyone knows a little about a small biz you have expenses for materials and what not and your time to make the baits themselves, taxes. other irrelevant things that are just part of it. These dudes are raking in thousands of dollars before even making the bait! LOL WTF

    I got out on a solo wake night because everyone called out on me haha I got to the lake at 845 and got my first bite at 912. Good first fish then it went down hill from there. Then the wind kicked in and got my last two. I got my last bite about 5 yards out, I set the hook and the bait came flying out the water and onto the rocks behind me and that was a wrap. Last fish caught at 1150.

    Last night in Florida for the traveling WnC, couldn’t fish today but I got it all ready to send off to @Dirty Diesel tomorrow! I had a blast doing this, was my first traveling bait and I was honestly on the fence about it, had anxiety about losing the dang thing. But I’m glad I did, it definitely reinvigorated my love for the WnC, and I can’t wait for the 66 to come out. I caught a lot of small fish on it but I had a banner day one day and managed to bring a decent fish to the bank. Hopefully the luck continues on along the journey. Threw some hook covers in as well as a smaller set of hooks and some extra tails, and the original lead tape that i took off when I started fishing it! Enjoy it @Dirty Diesel, may you catch a giant!
