It's been a long time since the last swap, so let's give it anther go. This is a great opportunity to show everyone what you been working on for days, weeks, months, years. In general, anything brand new or something you veen working for years are welcome. The rules are simple. 1. Make a hard swimbait by the dead line and you'll swap with another builder. 2. Bait can be anything from top water, wake, crank, one, two three, four, ect joints., wood or resin. 3. Dead line: May 31, 2024. That'll give us a little more than two months. When choosing bait, make sure you have a setup that can throw the bait please. We'll have a random drawing of names seeing who will be the first and then ect to choose which bait they want and then onto the next name. The builder shipping out the bait will be responsible for shipping coast as someone else will be shipping to them. Everyone who is part of the swap can share their build on this thread so everyone can see the progress on their baits. If theres any questions, you can post it on here. Now let see what everyone comes up with. Had a blast in 40° water today! Managed my first citizen fish, she was exactly where she was supposed to be - the only green grass in about 15' of cold open water... I made an adjustment to tie on the citizen 6 after never really working with it at all last year. Well, it's going to stay on the yak in my preferred lineup from now on. It's amazing when a moment of lucid thought while on the water bears a chunky mama! #themoreyouknow

Finally cracked the DD mark with this big girl and was even lucky enough to win the January SU tourney with her. Still extremely stoked about this one, and will be one of the catches that will stick with me forever. 11lb 0 oz

It was more than "average", but you get what you pay for imo... There's a reason a Lambo costs more than a KIA and I don't mind paying a little more for Dave's quality of work. We spend all this time, money and effort chasing these trophy fish, why would you want to cut corners or "bargain shop" for a mount that represents reaching that pinnacle/goal of catching a trophy? Just my .02

Rough weather in northern IL today but I've been on this 3-day weather pattern the last couple weeks (fishing the 3rd day of warm day/warmish night trend) and today is the target day. I decided to send this Gantarel KO (it's a super-slow sink, not a floater) and got lucky with my new PB! Went 20.75" and 5.77lbs. Water's less than 2ft visibility, off-and-on drizzle with 10-20mph NNE winds. I was using a moderate retrieve with pauses every three handle turns or so (reel, reel, reel, pause...let it glide off to the side and stall a couple seconds, then reel, reel...) She hit it right when I started reeling after a pause. She didn't TANK it, but it was a good double-tap. Thanks for reading! God is great!!!

This working 7 days a weeks sucks. Nees more time to fish but got out last week for a couple hours and got 4 all this size.

Generally I go for faster reels, but it does depend on the baits u use and your style of fishing. If you're fishing big lipped baits with lots of resistance, u want a slower reel. For glides, soft baits and swimmers I like faster reels. Those are just my preference I didn't love the tranx300, but I do love the 200 and 400 size. It's subjective though, you'd have to decide for yourself. I don't have experience with the tat. If you're in it for the long run, and have the funds, u should get the best u can afford. That's not to say a less expensive reel won't take care of u but there are some good higher end reels that will last forever if u take care of them. For line, invizx for flouro, izorline xxx for copoly. 15 lb test up to 30 lb test, they've been good to me so I never had a reason to try other brands.

I just used some builder eyes from backwater outfitters I had some that were basically the same as stock but red instead of yellow

All, My reel has been returned to me with service completed and is functioning like new.

I threw a citizen 7 for the last 2 days and this rod feels super nice. Have it paired up with a Tatula 300.

If only there were someone on here who had one that could put it in water and find out
