There's surprisingly little tolerance under that skin, even if it appears "loose" Something that may cure both the loose skin and Chuck's water issue is pulling the front shell and brushing a light coat of epoxy over the bait. I mean LIGHT too because too tight a fit is a real pain in the ass to get the shell back on.

14" is a beast TT. I believe the plastic tail alone weighs like 2oz.

Try it and report back how many you catch. I know sometimes it's easier to assume than to actually try something out, but you may be surprised at the results. It ain't shooting fish in a barrel, I can assure you.

In speaking previously with FishChris (if anyone has been around long enough to know him), he will agree that it takes a TON of skill to fish with live 'dads and other bait. His thought is that with artificials, YOU have complete control over the speed of retrieve, where the bait goes, etc. When you add in a live being on the other end of it, especially fishing out of sight/deep, that little sucker is going wherever it wants to and its natural instinct is not to go to the most obvious hideout of the biggest fish in the lake. Like Wayne said above, not my choice of pursuit but I'm not gonna knock a guy for doing it if it's legal and they're catching big fish.

They absolutely will eat this bait. Such a great addition to anyone's lineup, especially if you're familiar with the original size and its application.

They're still made. He's probably one of the most capable soft bait builders I've ever talked to. It's almost scary how quick he is able to take an idea and produce a tangible product.

Wade Hoggs creeped slow is a damn good bait that you can wake or crank down, Matt's hardgill in SS can be worked faster than normal and it will wake as well. Don't underestimate the approach of cranking a bait just below the surface either in your situation.

I will say I was pleasantly surprised with the quickness on shipping the Firetiger baits. Tracking said Thursday (today) and I got them last night.

Caught a few nice ones on the Hardgill and Toxic Wade Hoggs. Gill baits get bit and Matt's and Ceaser's are two of the best.
