  1. I was last to fish the baits. And then but them in the mail on the 5 of May. I just moved to colorado in December and didn't purchase a fishing license until the new license year which is April 1. So my time on the water before I got the baits was limited. I have throwing only swimbaits for I think about 4 years now. So I had a little bit of an idea of where to start. When I got the baits it was a no brainer to me to throw the realprey seeing as it was April in colorado and ice was on the lake into March. To me it's not real sexy to throw any of the bigger soft plastic baits but you can't deny that they catch fish. Well I made the most of having the baits in my possession and fished before and after work for two weeks along with the 2 weekends. I have a great wife and no kids so I fish a lot anyway. I didn't put up big numbers, hell I only caught one fish! But it was my new pb at 6.72!!! I do have pics, but I don't have a clue as to how to post them. On to the baits. I fished the realprey about 95% of the time. Like I said I thought it was the best plan to catch a fish and it worked out. I like the big tail wag that the bait had and I would think if the fish in your waters see a ton of hudds this is the bait to throw. A friend of mine owns the same bait but the line tie is in the mouth. I would recommend to not get the bait with the line tie in the mouth it limits how you can rig the bait. The realprey that I fished did not like to be fished very fast. It tended to lay to one side when retrieved fast not a lot but it did it. My favorite thing about the baits from realprey is how they hold up. I also own a realprey alewife that has probably has 10 fish on it and it looks brand new. I am now on the hunt for a 7.75" realprey trout. So if u have one let me know! Like I said I fished the woodtail very little maybe 2 hours. I wish I fished it more. It cranked down so easy and stayed down. I wish they where still made. There is no doubt that cranking down swimbaits catches fish. Which has led to more options for baits that crank down such as the new slammers and pats baits. I will soon be adding a crank down bait to my arsenal. Well this is getting too long and I am a horrible writer. Just want to give thanks to boom for donating the baits and Swimbait underground for putting this great place together.
  2. I to just did the sinkers drilled out to fit over the shank of the treble hook trick yesterday. It looks horrible but we will have to wait and see if the fish care.
  3. I have responded to the pm and can't wait to fish the baits. Thanks for the opportunity.
  4. Great looking fishing I will be there this Thursday till Tuesday I can't wait.
  5. 8" trout hard bait that can be cranked down Or 8" trout hybrid bait that can be cranked down
  6. 4 outings a week when it's not hunting season. During hunting season maybe 3 trips a month.
  7. I would love to try out a wood tail. I have a real prey alewive and it catches fish so I can't see why the trout wouldn't. I am in on this list also. I really have to start posting. Thanks Boom and SU
  8. This is a great way to get me to post. I would like to get on the list. With any luck I will catch something worth posting in the near future. Thanks SU!!
  9. I have recently been looking at a Frontier by Nucanoe. It looks to me that they are wider than most kayaks which I think would be more stable. The one piece of advise I have is to try out the model that you wish to purchase if you have a chance.
  10. Great looking fish do you mind sharing the type of retrieve you we're using?
  11. Can't wait to see this one. the camera angles look really really good!
  12. After moving to central Oklahoma where every body of water has low visibility I had a lot of luck this summer with the hardgill, original wood shell cracker, and 7 or 8 inch line thru osprey, also a slower retrieve even during the heat of the summer
  13. One thing that I know took some getting used to for me was not giving the fish a fighting chance. I now set the hook HARD and reel like hell. I don't loose near the amount of fish I used to. Catching a giant maybe a little different as I have no experience with a fish over 6lbs. but give it a shot.

  15. I was thinking the same thing about the size of the fish. One of the tourneys is near me but to soon to do anything about. Thanks for changing the link, I didn't even think that it might be a bad idea. I hope someone gets out to one of these tourneys and does well.
  16. i believe it is a gizzard shad. and it was prolly trying to breed with your lure.
  17. hey guys, I don't post much but I am always on here reading. I did a search on here but came up with nothing. I found this while searching the oakley big bass. You might have to copy and paste I don't know. It seems to me that some of us might be interested in this tournament format.
  18. I don't post much cause I don't have the experience of many of the others on this board, but I would still love to do a review of an item. So I am still in. thanks
