  1. Seriously! Reports like these make me want to move south.
  2. 5.37 I caught a couple weeks ago the 2nd time I fished a Wake Jr. It's my PB for now.
  3. Nice yak! I just picked up a Tarpon 120 back in August. I am loving it so far.
  4. Those are some great looking fish!
  5. x2 - The 7" or 9" Slammer is a great bait and won't break the bank.
  6. It's been a great numbers bait for me.
  7. Cool idea, I hope it works out for you. I've done OK, waking a MS Slammer Eel, but it's mostly been a night bait for me. That bait might be closer to what you're looking for.
  8. If there are any in stock there, the leadfreebassjigs web store sells them new.
  9. It's not exactly a rat bait, but the MS Slammer Eel reminds me of one, and I have done OK with one the few times I've fished it, mostly at night. Numbers-wise, I've also done very well with a Muit Mouse waked really slowly around shoreline cover.
  10. Sweet looking mount! I love that you included the shad. The beat up tail in cool too!
  11. I've fished out of a sit-in for years and just recently picked up a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 for 30% off at an EMS and love it. The sit on tops offer more stability, room for gear, and freedom of movement. Whatever you wind up wanting to try though, either borrow, rent, or demo before you buy.
  12. Sweet video! Thanks for posting it up. Tons of good info in this thread. I think it was Jolley that mentioned not liking to fish full moons, but while I also don't prefer them, I have had a few OK trips with a bright moon. The key for me was to treat the moon like the sun and focus most of my attention on areas of the pond shaded from the moonlight by trees.
  13. First post reminded me of how bad my first few night trips were, not that I'm an expert or anything now. Stick with it and after a few trips you'll feel just as comfortable on the water at night as during the day. It's a great way to fish, especially topwaters - the hits can be brutal.
  14. I haven't fished the 7" too much, but I love the 9" - it was actually the first swimbait I've ever fished, and still my go-to bait. I catch tons of 1.5 and 2 lb fish on it, so don't let the size intimidate you.
  15. All three while night fishing: Weirdest - Around 2am, I heard somebody walking up and down a trail next to the pond I was fishing, playing a flute or fife or some other kind of woodwind instrument. Coolest - Owl dive-bombing a MS Slammer. Fortunately for both of us, it wasn't hooked. Scariest - Dragged my kayak down a ways to a small pond. After a while, I heard some coyotes howling, carrying on, and circling the pond for over an hour. Took a while for me to work up the nerve to get off the water.

    KAYAK

I've had a 10' Old Town sit-in for 10+ years and have beat it to hell with no issues. Have also been thinking of upgrading to a Tarpon or OK Trident for more stability, room for gear, and freedom of motion.
