  1. Grenade weights work great but to add lead you can use solid lead wire 1/4” wire or any weight really. A tungsten drop shot sinker has the most density. Then I would fill with the kwickwood epoxy putty or any of the epoxy putties really but the kwickwood sands and handles easy.
  2. The silent verison is the one I like. Really cool action different than most. It’s is super buoyant so you can reel at all speeds on top. I like it in calmer conditions creeped. Although it’s big it sits super high in the water so leaves a smaller foot print. I haven’t had any issue with hook ups or losing fish.
  3. I think it looks great. A great subtle hardbait that will get smoked. Cold water alternative for me to a soft bait, except you can get this suspend and hang. This is the action that Tomoya imparts with his 7” VTS on a 4/0 beast hook. Gets the same action and I personally saw this action get bites and result from pressured and inactive fish that wouldn’t look at a traditionally rigged hardbait or the same bait rigged weedless traditionally. The fish arrow riser jacks also have a great subtle action that gets crushed. Not sure why people think the “swim crappy” when the fish don’t seem to think so. But people say that about the hi float tks and I absolutely crush on that bait. Just my .02
  4. St-36 we’re the original standard hooks. Owner was out and we used the st-46 series cuz that’s all I could get in bulk. We have switched to the SU Strikes and I’m happy with that hooks performance. I personally have used the st-36 46 56’s with great success my fav is the 56. I have also used the Gammy ewg short shank 1/0’s, the STX-45s 1s are nice but the points seem to bend early and need changed often. The BKK vipers are also super dope hooks in 1 or 1/0. My baits personally usually have the st-46 St-56 or if I have any in hand the BKK Vipers. I think the viper is the best HD treble on the market
  5. Cheaper to find your own box these days
  6. Not sure why they would do any of those things without seeing that bait myself. The regular snapper is very buoyant and on the fast retrieve can tend to hunt or if not tuned can swing to one side. None of the baits were ment for fast retrieve/burns, but they should stay relatively stable. Tuning the baits like a standard crankbait can solve the issue or sometimes the joint get a bit tweaked and can cause the bait to run one way. Anyone can always send the bait in for repair or replacement if they believe it’s a bad apple, but with that said, the last thought in my head when designing the gill wake baits is the burn. Contact@toxicbaits.com is the email to best reach out to us, dms and personal messages over social media are iffy at best.
  7. I know this is a month old but I’m. Not on as much. As my experience has progressed with the big frog my approach has evolved. I usually throw it with a 30lb shock leader now. I haven’t noticed any problems in the heaviest cover and in shallow weedy cover water clarity can be like vodka. I use the big frog to target large fish exclusively, it can definitely be a big bait for smaller fish to fully eat so missed bites can be part of it. I do fish it fast in the wind. It is an amazing big fish bait in the chop. Not sure why but a medium fast steady clip they bomb it. When conditions are flat calm I fish it extremely slow like I would a suspending hudd, but with the idea it’s a big frog. Slow twitches and short reels with long pauses letting it sit on the bottom or top of weeds. That’s where the flouro comes in. My biggest bites have came subsurface on the pause and fall or just slowly twitching in naturally in the middle of the water column. Hope this kinda helps. 10/0 beast or BKK is the preferred hook and I use a couple wraps of lead tape on the shank to help it flip faster when it lands upside down.
  8. We use salmon mooching rods for sturgeon on the delta if you want a longer rod. Prob with longer rods and sturgeon/big fish is boat side they can be a handful and the long rig makes landing harder especially solo. Seeker makes some models but I honestly use a ugly stick tiger and braid lol. It has the soft tip that are speaking of to let them slurp it in. But the high end longer rods the heavy moochers get the job. Braid to heavy flouro leader has very little stretch so the length doesn’t come into play much
  9. 100-200 sizes handle most duties these days. Only reason I go up these days is for line cap. 200 can handle 6ozs all day if it’s a quality reel. Heck I’d throw my DRT Ghost which is 8.8oz on my 200 coastal really but that small of a reel doesn’t balance out on the heavy rods used to throw it.
  10. If you buy the lures, then sell the lures at a profit, you will be taxed on the profit. If you buy and sell them thru PayPal you have records for both sides of transactions. If not keep the receipt. Flippers will pay on the profits they make.
  11. I used to have a nice ranger net. Net finally wore out. Since then I’ve been rocking a 12$ frabill from Walmart for years now, extendable handle, big hoop, super light weight which is key and has handled fish up to 15-20 lbs for years no issue.
  12. Oh yeah! I got em all over the deck of my boat. They stick just as well as they do to carpet.
  13. This is cool! thank you! I can send a bait for this if need be.
  14. still reasonable for shipping cross the country in a few days IMO but i def need to adjust my prices LOL
  15. The HD is legit. 4oz isn’t all that much. Ive been throwing my 6oz on my 200 coastal for years.
  16. The bait sinks? Or it is a heavy float and doesn’t wake? The new mink are fully switched over to crankdown baits. This is the way they perform best IMO. If it’s sinking it’s definitely not right and I will get you straight just contact me thru my email. Also if you were expecting a wake and it’s not what you wanted contact me and I’ll get you a refund. Contact@toxicbaits.com
  17. Thanks for everyone that signed on. I thought I had crazy drops sometimes… nope. DRT is a king i was happy to be able to offer these even through the meyhem that was the drop. I’ll have more soon…. But I’m prob gonna just drop in store. Not to be unfair but I got immeasurable amounts of snarky dms with people frustrated which I understand 100% so to alleviate the problem we will do in store drops of drts, if any online drops come around again they will be unannounced. The croc charms are already on reorder… I had no clue that hundreds would sell out instantly. That’s awesome! Have piles coming back for a restock.
