  1. #fishbeef all up in this place!
  2. damn it feels good to be a gangsta, or a supreme leader!
  3. it'll be the same 25 people that were there last week, and the week before that.
  4. supply is supply, and demand is demand. the price of a bait (on the black/grey market) is where supply intersects demand in a supply-demand model. the only way a supply increase creates a downward effect on demand is when it shoos away the flipper, but that effect is prob fairly marginal. however, when supply increases and demand stays the same, then price drops. it's one of the rules of marcoecon.
  5. anyone who catches a 12 would be smiling. the trick is the catching part. =) nice fish, OP! that's a day i can only dream about.
  6. haha, fo sho! "no really, it's for a friend!" gotta remember to rub some butt juice on it too...no, i mean the pro-cure kind!
  7. need a soft weedless version to get her to really choke on it...just sayin'.
  8. sweet hudd fish! man, if i didn't have to be in slacks/dress shirt for work, i'd try fishing during lunch. it'd give me more opportunities to get skunked!
  9. if you see the east river in all its glory, you might not eat the blues that you pull out of there.
  10. man, i've read about people burning baits to catch fish, but this is might be the first time i'm seeing it on video. that's pretty cool! i've been mixing up my retrieve, but haven't caught fish burning a swimbait like that. most of my catches tend to be of the cast, 1 to 2 cranks, and line gets heavy varietal. would love to find the right condition for burning a hudd or fs trout one day, and catch fish like the way you did on the video.
  11. i reel with my left, but cast the way a righty does. basically, i fish my baitcaster in the same orientation as a spinning rod. never understood the role reversal of hands b/w spinners and baitcasters. anyway, to your point, i have had no problems casting with a spiral left from a righthander's orientation. ben assured me of this when i ordered the rod and he was right.

    NY Steelhead

no kidding! if i were in those pics, the fish would be blurry from my hands shaking so much. altho, having lived on both coast, i gotta say 46° here feels a LOT colder than 46° in the northeast. 46 degrees is 46 degrees. Cali just made you soft. is that why you were trying to huddle up against me in the car while waiting for the dvl gates to open and the sun to rise? that morning was prob ~50°...you just didn't know it! =)

    Kawashi fish

is it some camera filter you're using, or is your line really neon green?
  14. not an error - mickey recently mentioned that you can order on the site. as for how many are available, not sure.

  16. lexa 300, b/c everyone else is using it! =)
  17. a year ago, i was only amazed at the size of swimbaits, and their ability to catch fish, but had never thrown one. ltrain introduced me to swimbaiting a little while after, and it's been a pretty slippery slope since.

    8" hud fish

makes me wonder - if that were a real trout, how long does it take for the bass to digest it? and how does it even get digested in the first place! either way, nice fish, OP!
  19. i hope that's all c&r!! i'd be a bit afraid to risk any of my swimbaits pulling 8-10lb fish up over the railing 8' above the water. ltrain, go throw your 250 in there!
  20. well, look at the bright side. it could have come off your line at the lake. then you wouldn't even have a bent pin to work with!

    16 DEGREES

I used to fish in this weather in a tee shirt. Wife made me go to the Dr's and I have high blood pressure, so ever since i have been on pills I dress warmer.... trooper award here, for sure! i used to live in the northeast - boston, nyc, d.c. - but now i'm in socal. either i've just gotten soft, or 45° feels objectively colder than 45° back east. 16°? i wouldn't even want to step outside with a ski mask on!
  22. so much #fishbeef going on these days, goodness! i'm new to swimbait fishing and went with a setup that i thought retained the most value (in case i ever decide to get out and sell all my goods) - ldc prod xh and lexa 300. the xh has proven pretty versatile - i've been hawkin' 68s up to 250ss with it with no issues, but i can see why people might have a few different rods for different purposes.
  23. if it makes you feel any better, 2.12kg is still sub 5lbs. nice fish, nonetheless, and good luck with the raffle!
