  1. This dude has fake Instagram accounts he uses to clown on other people's paint jobs and promote his own lol. I used to say nice things about bassjaks paint and he'd log in on these fake accounts and start tagging me in bassholes posts saying how they were way better than Jason's lol.
  2. $275 seems more than fair! His 9" is very reasonably priced as well, to think that the 12.5" likely takes over 3X the materials/hardware costs to make each one, and probably more work in post production/tuning, I'd bet he's finding it tough to not ask for even more. And he runs a good operation with consistently good customer relations, so I'd be happy to put 275 his way vs a lot of other big baits.
  3. My biggest and favorite for the year. Possibly the biggest or 1 of the biggest caught on a swimbait in AZ this year. No trout stockings and toxic water have made for the toughest year yet for any angler out here, this fish was so special because to me, she represents hope for the future. Incredibly healthy and great genes, if we can get a year of clean water she will dump her eggs and provide a new generation of future giants. The fish I caught right after her was a good representation of the majority of our fish's health. Scales falling off, scrawny and struggling.
  4. Fishing all the spots you were catching them in the summer sounds super unproductive in the winter. Fish move deep. Im not saying they wont go shallow now and then, but you're going to be putting the bait in barren water the majority of the time. Gotta be willing to adapt and follow the fish and the forage. This is in reference to lake fish, I have no clue what city fish do..
  5. I do not like the San Diego Jam for mono at all. Try an improved clinch and just see if that's your issue, sounds like it is. Your drag should be fine locked down.
  6. I always fly with a full box of swimmers in my carry on, cause I don't trust it in checked luggage. Never taken the hooks off and never had any issues with over 25+ flights doing so. A couple of times it's gone through the x-ray and they will open it up to examine it. Just make sure when they ask if there's anything hazardous or sharp that's going to poke them when they start digging, you say yes! I always tell them honestly I wouldn't dig around in the box and they always take my word for it haha.
  7. You can do literally everything by the books and totally suck. In today's world the only advantage you can have is to stand out from the crowds and put a little extra confidence into each of your casts. Good topic!
  8. That King Shad is nothing to be ashamed of, that things one of the baddest little baits out there!
  9. I'd like to know that as well! Found one, thx SU
  10. Hey y'all, Does any1 have an extra power handle for a tranx 400? If you have one that you just don't need I'd love to snag it off ya. Please let me know, thanks!
  11. My lucky golden shiner HPH to a tiger, first time having a fish bite clean through an 80lb leader. Never lost any super expensive baits cause my line never comes in contact with zebra mussels with those baits tied on. Magnums and hudds on the other hand, I've lost enuff of those the last 6 years to afford a nice little honda civic.
  12. Insanely jealous. Again. It's up there on the bucket list. Epic dude, strong work.
  13. @jcolo4sho had one, I really liked that thing. Had a pretty awesome swim if I remember correctly and I really liked how unique it's design was. Great size too.
  14. there were a couple bikinis on that beach
  15. To my knowledge you're completely in the clear legally to fish it if the body of water itself is public. He can't claim the water in the cove. As long as you're not touching his actual property which likely includes the island. That being said, the scary part is not knowing the guy or his nature. People that go to the extreme of fencing off the water are typically completely insane and unpredictable. If HE believes whole-heartedly that he owns the water there and HE believes he's allowed to defend 'his' water and starts shooting at you,,, not good. Obviously he'd be wrecked in court, but if you're shot and killed that won't matter to you. But I don't even know if you are allowed to defend you're property in California y'all got some weird stuff goin on in that state hahaha.
  16. Here's a pretty comical catch. Had an audience on the beach cheering me on hah. Cranking a modded deps 190 bullshooter down to suspended fish in almost 35ft of water, she bit probably 15-20 ft down. They were post spawn and very tight lipped (In recovery mode) and this was a fish that led me onto a decent bite for a couple weeks following... bullshitter.mp4
  17. Rosey is real easy to bank fish, and the majority of the fish there are shallow right now. Canyon and Sag aren't too bad, but you'll have to deal with the stench of a million dead fish right now lmao
  18. Here's the issue with the whole swimbaits only thing, if you don't spend the time learning how fish react with a spectrum of other baits, you miss out on learning key behavioral patterns that will apply to your swimbait game... There's a lot of basic keys in bass fishing that you'll miss out on if you limit yourself to swimbaits, or rather, it'll take you a lot longer to learn them. I also think people strictly limiting themselves to swimbaits are cheating themselves out of a lot of good fish and fun times, but I also have a lot of respect for that level of patience. Of all the dirty 30's we've put together, only 1 of them was compiled with just a swimbait. All the others were a mix of conventional and swimmers throughout the day as the fish changed their moods and location. Some without a single swimbait fish. Point being if the opportunity to catch biggies is there, adjust your style and take what you're given. I'll throw what I need to to get a stud in the boat, if it's a swimbait, hell yeah. If not, hell yeah. Ton's of fun tricking em either way.
  19. Shooter sold, Last chance for the Mago at an unbeatable price...
  20. Yea I've never heard of a CA shoalie, it does look strikingly similar though. Looks like a mean-mouth to me. Spot/Smallie or Largie/smallie cross-breed. If it ain't a meanmouth (pretty sure it is tho), maybe it's just a cool paint job on a spot.
