  1. https://youtu.be/4rn9gQQbTmk First outing with the phoney glide. What you can't see in the video is the HAMMER that was trying to take the bait away from this dink. I was trying to hang both but it just wasn't to be.
  2. I've had similar observations waynem. I can usually get at least 1 nip/bite by going up in size(10 inch baits) no matter how tough. That being said for me a 10 inch bait seems to be the magic number. The difference between jumping from a 10" and a 12" bait for me amounts to me just chucking 4 extra ounces all day. These are just my observations. Going up in size seems to get more reactions. I'll admit to "riding the moped" occasionally. Sometimes I just want to whack um and stack um and I go on the dink hunt. Go home if you like but you cant hit a homerun if your not out there swinging the bat
  3. Beer.............cold. Free is better.
  4. check feed back, make your best judgement and then its a role of the dice. I, for one, have never had a problem. And I've made several trades. I can't speak for everyone but all the dudes I know of on here(or have dealt with) are jam-up.
  5. So is it sold out for everything hotel and tourney? I don't want to pull a boat for 15 hrs to get turned away, It's about a 1000 miles one way for me, I have exams this week but I wouldnt mind a road trip
  6. You want to be able to mark the stuff you find that holds fish(logs, humps, bathtubs, ect.). Jace D is right about card compatability. Lakemaster is a better card but wont work in lowrance. If your on a smaller water I doubt lakemaster will cover it anyway. Youdont have to have the topo but you want to be ably to return to those exact spots. Aim small, Miss small
  7. HDS 9 touch is killer(gen 2). For the money you can't beat it. Just make sure the one you buy comes with the LSS-2 transducer. Then add an extra $150 for the navionics card. Learn how to run it and you'll never look back. If money is not an issue then get one for the deck too.
  8. Finally took the plunge on a gopro a few months ago. I've now got my edited film but having trouble finding decent music. I was totally oblivious to all the regulation until yesterday. Where can I find some options for some old school, and some newer too? Free or Paid. I don't mind laying out some dough if that's what has to happen
  9. I own the XH. I don't like the way it loads up with anything less than 5-6 oz. Just my preference. I own the original guide select H and if the "a" heavy is anything like the original you have plenty of power to plow them on a 8" hudd or weedless RS Either will be a good choice. Nobody I know of ever started swimbaiting with the intentions of EVER throwing a 10-12 in bait. Let's face it. Most of us end up on that dark road eventually.
  10. And BTW I've never run across an "Industry Standard" for rod power. Maybe someone else has and could help.
  11. Like SPEED said just depends on the rod manufacturer. I'm guilty of going over the rating a good bit of the time. You never know until you try it. I regularly throw 175's , GC 168's on a Veritas 7'6" and ts only rated for 1-1/4 oz. I don't go crazy casting but I like the way it loads up with a fish. Figure out what you like and do it. Experience is the only thing that will get you in your comfort zone. If your not willing to accept breaking it then stick to the weight range listed. I just wouldn't always take that rating as the gospel.
  12. 2016 started out strong but quickly took a nosedive. Out practicing for a tourney last week and this gal was ready for a Swimbait. After getting my first GoPro and dumping just about every Swimbait fish boatside since I've been filming I said "what the hell, I'm flippin her". Goodbye 2016! 2017 is already on the up and up. Cashed a check on this area January 1. Hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Put the hurt on them in 2017 everybody!
  13. I had a very similar situation buying a reel on the BM. Don't panic, PayPal will have your back. Give it until Monday and then file a claim with PayPal. After I did that I had a response from the seller within a hour or two. Funny how that works. That's why you ALWAYS PAY THE FEE. Good luck with it though, maybe it's a glitch on his end. Sometimes things happen.
  14. How the hell Do I always miss these. Missed it on my own damn birthday
  15. Packaged extremely well. Buy with confidence. Fast shipping and good communication.
  16. To be honest its been a pretty slow month or so. Thought I take a few to share some summer spoils. Still in transition here from summer to fall but with a cooling trend the biggies are starting to move back up. First three are all rat fish. That CL8 baby possum has been doing its thing and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Last pic was my best day of fishing EVER. All were caught on big basstrix, giant spoon, and a 8 in softbait I've been working on for about a year. That day we caught 18-20 fish and had maybe 6 under 5lbs. truly EPIC. I contribute every bit of it to 2 yrs of solid Big Baiting. It's been the best thing for me to learn big fish behavior. For all the salty vets one here, thanks for all the info, it has changed the way I fish, and for that I thank you all. For all the boys in the Carolinas and dirty south, every fish was caught on reservoirs locally on lakes, get out there and get it done heres your proof, their are big fish factories here you just have to crack the code. Hope everyone is having a great season.
  17. I've got lakemaster and Navionics gold and Platinum. I think lakemaster is a far better mapping. And being that you have a humminbird unit It will work well together, it being a huminbird product( I have mine in a 999 SI). Biggest drawback is the smaller list of lakes covered. When I was running navionics in my bird I could never get the depth highlight feature to work properly(awsome feature). If your waters are covered Id say go with lakemaster, if not, either one will get you where you need to be
  18. Great guy to deal with. Good communication and fast shipping. I wouldn't hesitate to trade with him again. Buy/Trade with confidence.
