I believe it glows for a while after you hit it with the uv light. I don’t have any personal experience with one though. I wonder if it actually works as far as getting more bites.

Keep chuckin the slammer. I got my confidence from rats then went to soft baits. Rising sons, mission fish, and hudd 68’s. Like northeast_trev said, keep your rod pointed at the bait. When you do get one to eat, make sure to grind them in. Just keep chuckin

Well boys it finally happened! Her first hudd fish, and swimbait fish. All on her own, cast to catch, And it was a good one. Slow rollin, paused, then started slow rollin and she hammered it. She’s come out with me probably a dozen times since I started this post with no fish but stayed confident and excited to go out and try again. I told her it would pay off and she was going to stick a giant, and she did. A northern Illinois giant that is. She was so pumped. Talk about a proud moment for me. Now she said she can use a different bait. She said she’s going to chuck the 8” hudd @JoshPerkins802 sent her. Thanks bud. She’s a true swimbait head.

Thanks to Josh Perkins, she now has a 8” hudd and a ganteral jr to chuck! Thanks again. Great guy. And great people on SU. Have seen some really cool stuff from guys on here over the years. And for that reason I have started to try and be more active on SU and try to help where I can.

Same here. Wish I lived closer or had the time and cash to travel. I’d defianatly come out.

Damn. If it were my bait I’d probably see how tight a .072 or a .092 screw eye starts to thread in and if it feels ok. Then take it back out put some epoxy in the hole and on the threads and run it in. But like josh Perkins stated above, I’d hate to mess with the weight and effect the balance and rate of fall and what not. Wait on it a bit and see what others come up with and see what the best solution is. Myself and I’m sure most others on here would repair it for nothing just shipping.

Thanks guys. Great advise as always. She is getting really good with casting so getting it out there and covering more water is going to help. It will be very rewarding when she sticks one on it. I’ll post some pics when she does.

My daughter has been throwing her hudd 68 all spring and into summer here so far. She calls herself a hudd chucker. She won’t fish anything else until she catches one on it. She defiantly takes after me in that respect. I know it’s not the ideal bait for summer, but I was looking for some feedback on any other ways to have her fish it. I’ve had her crawl it, kinda yo-yo it, faster steady retrieve and sometimes busting the surface and making the tail bulge or bubble up top. Only one blow up on it as she was just about to pull it out of the water so far. Oh. We fish mostly ponds from shore.
