  1. Yes. I got the same message. I figured it was a scam. It just sucks with all the scam stuff because a couple of them seem pretty real and I can see how some might get taken advantage of. The Chase, paypal, and Apple emails look pretty legit.
  2. Got home Tuesday night and the baby wake showed up so went out for a quick session. Fished it the last three evenings after work. No bites yet, but hoping to change that this weekend
  3. Damn. Hopefully the stars will align with the the new slammer when I’m up again. Always had ice when I was up. Not sure if I’m still on the list
  4. EL_Weruso I think I missed the message by a couple days. I’d like to get back in
  5. What bassbass said. With weedless baits I try to point at the bait as I’m reeling in. When you get bit. Reel down until you feel her and then set the hook. I’ve been doing it this way with my weedless hudds, rising sons, and mission fish with not any more missed than the normal misses. Mono 100 percent of the time. Pline original pf and cxx 20 lbs
  6. Awesome you got a topwater bite already. You are definitely going to want some heavier line and eventually a dedicated big bait rod setup. Not sure how heavy the rat is that you are using, but I’d hate see you tear up a rod and reel, or cast the bait off due to thin line. I like 20 and 25 lbs test mono for my rat fishing
  7. Ok. I’ve been slingin on my new omea xh for a couple weeks. I haven’t battled any fish yet, but I already know this thing is as good as it gets. Very light for as sturdy as it is. I’ve thrown a little of everything I’ve got on it and it handles everything just fine. The build quality is awesome!
  8. Oh man. My thoughts are with his family. I always liked seeing Go Fish! On his posts. I remember the post, and as it was very sad I remember how positive he was with everything. Michel Go Fish with some of the great ones!
  9. That’s awesome. Thanks for the write up. When I first saw the OD rat is when I knew I wanted to throw swimbaits. I wanted one bad, but couldn’t hack the price. That is what made me start making my own rats and other swimbaits. Still need to get one. Lol
  10. I just ordered the xh. Hoping it’s as sweet as I’ve heard.
  11. Nice work ISO_the1. EL_WERUSO. I messaged ISO. I’ve got all hard water. You’ll have to skip me and get me on the flip side
  12. I used a light weight aluminum tube. Turned it down for the taper, epoxied it in. Used some foam and re used the butt cap. Worked out pretty good.
  13. Looks really good. I can’t wait to get some stuff together to build a rod.
  14. I was reluctant at first. Don’t know if I have the credentials, but I’m in if I’m good. Lol
  15. You can also look into twisting your own screw eyes. You can get almost any sized SS wire from welding shops and online. I ran some tests on screw eyes I made vs .092’s all epoxied in pine, and I’m definitely switching to handmade screw eyes. It does take a lot of pull them out, but I pulled the .092’s out. Couldn’t pull the handmade eyes out without breaking the wood, with a lot more pressure.
  16. I love that style on the wake. Nice baits
  17. Very nice write up. I really enjoy these interviews. It’s nice to see bait makers like these. Awesome baits UFO.
  18. Defiantly following this one. I’ve been wondering the same thing, and thinking about painting one of my rats with some kind of glow paint. I have a little cylindrical keychain made with tritium that I was thinking about dangling from the front of a rat. Might be cool for tracking the bait on a cast in pitch black conditions.
  19. I am fishing one now on a 10/0 beast un weighted, and it swims great. I fish mostly shallow ponds so I don’t need it deep. It’s heavy enough to still get down pretty quick.
  20. Carlsbadbassin89 Nice catch. And nice pics. I just checked out the cast2catch then came here. I hope I can catch some of that mojo when it comes my way
  21. This is a great idea. I think this will open up some cool opportunities. I need to get my rear back in gear.
  22. I’m Glad My name is a little further down on the list, it’s -15 degrees out there this morning.
