    Decent Day

Took our yearly trip north and finally got on a decent bite. Had to work for the fish we got but found largies on deep reefs and smallies moving shallow starting to stage to spawn. Got my first crank down fish and had another smack it broadside at the boat but missed it. Lost a good smallie on the chad shad (would have been my first glide bait bass) at the boat due to my net man (cough cough) kind of a bummer but solid day. Definitely enjoying trying to broaden what I use to target these fish, it can be a grind but sticking with it and remaining committed to the cause. Tight Lines!
  7. those are some good ones right there man, looks like the new bodies of water have been good to ya so far.
  8. great day right there, you are on em for sure man way to go
  9. looks like a heck of a few weeks, nice fish man and on a ton of different baits.
  10. For most of my time fishing I have spent hitting the banks, the last two years I have been able to take out a small Jon boat that I purchased, I like it because it gives me more capability of checking out different bodies of water and areas that I couldnt from foot. My family and I recently moved and I have been looking for spots to fish from shore, sometimes it is nice to just pack a rod and some gear throw it on your back and hoof it. Like some of the others have said the majority of my big fish have come from bangin the banks. I guess the moral of this story is, yeah there are times I would rather be on the bank.
  11. things getting chewed, nice fish

solid fish man those are fun baits to fish for sure.
  13. Your welcome for cleaning up the smaller class fish for you hahahaha I think every skip in the northeast has a taste for swimbaits when I am out this season
  14. I meaaaan is it ok to say that I hate you if i dont mean it WHOLE heartedly? In all seriousness killer year man, you are on some awesome fish consistently.
  15. thats a chunk man congrats! River fishing is a whole other ball game.
  16. @dominioncaster handsome pup man! I dont blame you hahaha be a bad day if he got a mouthfull of trebles and dumped the boat over on ya.
  17. no kidding I figured they would be darker, hmmm learn something new everyday. Some of the more stained water around here the fish have a darker tint mayb just depends on what is in the body of water for vegetation? I am no scientist hahaha either way nice fish!
  18. solid fish man, the water must be crazy clear such a light colored fish.
  19. Your pup was beautiful man, I am sorry for your loss. Losing a partner like that is definitely one of the toughest things to go through. I appreciate the advice I will definitely give it a shot. She finally walks like a normal dog on a leash instead of me pulling her around haha baby steps I guess.
  20. @dean_d thank you! Maus is as well what a big boy. Does he just hang out off leash while you fish? Our puppy has to be tethered to me hahah hoping to get her to the point where she an be off leash and just hang.
  21. I am sure this topic has been done at some on the underground but figured I would start one anyway. I have always wanted a GSD and we finally moved and have enough space for a pup so we got one. I spend about 85% of the time fishing solo early mornings or late nights but now I have a wing "girl" to roll with. So far she has been super impressive in the boat once she settles in from the excitement. Anyone else fish with their dog show them pics off! PS. Going to need a bigger boat for her eventually haha
  22. I typically use PLINE or Big Game in 20-25lb test I use it for pretty much all applications wakes, glides, crank downs. Maybe someone with more years of experience will chime in but this is what has been "working" for me for the past couple years. I prefer the PLINE. I have used braid with a leader attached and wasnt a big fan. I know some dudes run straight braid for their wakebaits but I think this is dependent on the action of your rod as you could pull hooks.
  23. thing is beastly, congrats on the PB
  24. looks like some solid fish man, the grind always pays off when you least expects it! you got a slaunch coming your way im sure.
