  1. I’d imagine it’s from the lead harness
  2. I recently started throwing bait that weigh more than 3 oz. I have a Diawa Millionaire reel and a rod that is capable. My only issue is that when I cast I have a hard time keeping my thumb on the spool, it slips out from under my thumb. Is this just me being weak or is the reel just not able to handle the weight? It isn't really in my budget to get a different reel so I'm not sure where to go from here. Thanks guys.
  3. There are some good videos on YouTube about it. I forget the poster but just start by looking up "Everything you need to know about throwing a Deps 250" Im pretty sure.
  4. Sounds like somebody with UPS was a little salty about you being in the swimbait game.
  5. Based off light research a 10lb bass has a rough length of 26+ inches. If the 2/3 rule applies that means the bass would eat a 17 inch lure. I feel like the 2/3 rule may hit a cut off at a certain point. Either way, Thank you all for your input I truly appreciate this!
  6. Trust me those tacklewarehouse tubes are no joke. They had to try and break them practically.
  7. I'll make a review of the rod this weekend
  8. Having been in the swimbait game for half a year or so my confidence has grown. A 5 inch paddle tail seemed massive to me at the time. Throwing a 6 inch hudd seemed like absolute madness. Now I throw 6 inch bluegill glidebaits, 7 inch glide baits, and recently caught a 4-ish lber on an 8 inch Savage Gear line thru. All of these things have boosted my confidence greatly to the point an 8 inch bait isnt so bad anymore. I did mild digging and I couldnt come across a post asking this question, so I'll ask it now. What is the largest bait you throw and have confidence in getting a bite? Not like an everyday bite, just a large bait you know can/will get bit. At the moment for me I am hovering around 8 inches as the largest. SIDE NOTE: I bought a $50.00 BPS Musky rod rated 4-10 oz. Should I make a review for it like a budget swimbait rod?
  9. Nice bait. Shame I’m not in the market right now.
  10. Ok well that went deep. Anyway, I tried the fake hudd today. Absolute garbage. There is a massive internal plastic harness that makes this thing float. It has a sink rate of about 6 inches a minute. Only thing it’s good for is it’s basically a 6 inch hudd wake bait. Even then it’s garbage. The plastic on the tail is very stiff to. 2/10
  11. I had something similar happen to me. Don't take it for granted and just chuck and wind!
  12. Never had something like that happen bc I don't have a bait like that. I would imagine like kdat said would be boiling. Maybe hairdryer/heatgun would work too.
  13. With glide baits you can take action to try and trigger the bite. Try jerking your rod and twitching the bait to get the bite next time
  14. I wonder if this situation could impact something like the Castaic BD shad and Bull shads. Everyone knows the BD shad is a straight up copy with just a different joint system. BPS already stepped on some toes by making an exact copy of the R2S SWaver. I wonder if anything at all will happen honestly.
  15. Yea. If it swims anything close to the hud I might buy some up to chuck into cover. I wouldn't be hurt about losing a cheapo. They might as well have molded a hud straight up.
  16. Bass pro now has a near exact copy of a 6 inch hud that theyre selling. Go check it out. I forget the nam. I got one to check out to see if its worth the $7 price tag
  17. Interested in the green (not yellow) trick.
  18. Shoot, I just want a flat billed hat.
  19. Watch Roman Made turn around and say something like "That is a risk you take with handmade baits. Sorry"
