  1. made a trade with Josh, super guy ultra fast shipper. Don't hesitate to deal with him.
  2. I don't have an addiction, it's much more serious than that.
  3. Its about time somebody made a frog with proper legs and sexy feet. Yes, I have a foot fetish, don't judge me.
  4. Great job, I made a Negotiator copy out of pine, works pretty well. I like the tail idea you have...RM tails cost a LOT, so I made mine from wood covered with Gorilla tape (!)...silly but it works! I wonder what kind of plastic RM uses for tails, I haven't been able to find anything like it.
  5. crazybass fisher has a youtube video on how they both compare as far as gliding. I don't have a hinkle but I appreciate their capability - from what I see on youtube. I do have a RM Mother, and I'm amazed at how it seems to swim on it's own.
  6. anyone know what the stock hooks are on Deps and/or Roman Made lures? They look like ST 46's...
  7. I've caught trout here in Illinois stocked lakes, and several have had bass bite marks on them.
  8. as far as fixing it, boiling is your best best IMO; I would take it out of the lure if you can.
  9. Well, I've had these rods over 10 years, I used them to surf fish with - I would look into graphite surfcasting rods, check out stripers online as well. Sometimes you can pick up a deal on a used rod, that's how I got these. I love the Ocean Master XH. I will do some searching as well see what I can find.
  10. I use a 12 foot Ocean Master and I also have a 12 foot Pinnacle that will do what you want. I surfed fish for redfish on the gulf and a good "8 and bait" was needed - 8 oz pyramid + a lb mullet was standard fare. I kept my surf gear and use it to cast my Roman Mother, which it handles nicely.
  11. not to be a 'nudge' but it's past Monday, and I'm Jonesin' for a dino-frog report...
  12. beautiful smallmouth - like Noah was inferring a length girth measurement can get you a close estimate via the formula on the internet: Also, if you don't have a tape handy use a piece of fishing line to "measure" with by matching the lengths to the length and girth. Then you can measure these against a tape at home.
  13. I don't know if it's "art" but I LIKE IT!
  14. I don't have a clue, so I can't give you good advice...but Matt Allen did a great "how to catch the biggest bass in the lake" seminar that's recorded on YouTube. In the first or second one, he talks about crawling a Huddleston slowly then letting it sit for several minutes...then burning it back to the boat. He said this was only for those fish that had seen everything. You might at least get some ideas from those seminars, or entertainment if nothing else! Also, he and Tim have videos about catching their PB (over 15's) and it's pretty interesting. On an entirely different note: How do you like to fish and what would you like to remember catching it on?
  15. I'm going to throw the Deps 250, but probably not the Roman Made mother as much...the Deps is more easily replaced, so I guess around 100$.
  16. I am so glad someone brought up this topic; I've been thinking about this (long Illinois winter) and had seen that video. In addition, I've seen negative comments on videos especially centering around the Roman made or Deps lures, since they're expensive. You've seen the "I could've caught that bait on a cheap x lure or live bait, etc." type comments I'm sure. In reality if catching a trophy is the prime importance nothing will outfish live bait. But what have you accomplished by doing that over and over again? The only thing that prevents me from exclusively throwing a Deps 250 is muskies, but I'll probably just have to suck that up and fish. I don't get much time to fish so when I do I want to fish with something I enjoy and nothing is funner to me than fishing a Deps 250. I read an article about the young fellow in Japan who holds the current LM bass record (or shares it with Perry); I think he held the Biwa lake record on a Roman Mother, but caught the world record on a live bluegill. You could tell even though he was happy to catch it he wishes it woud've come on a lure, especially a swimbait. Great topic, thanks!
  17. sounds to me like your're doing it! awesome story...
  18. Live bluegill are a killer bait - those fish you've caught have to be flirting with the state record in Michigan! SU is the greatest, between it and ebay I am perpetually poor, but lure rich. On a different note, I agree the Hudd trout is the bait of baits for soft swimmers; but if you've caught yours on live bluegill wouldn't a bluegill bait be more logical to gravitate to? Not prying just wondering why you chose that direction. Good luck in your endeavor.
  19. do you also post or utilize tackle underground?
  20. that sounds more plausible. I've caught several trout with what looked to have bass bite marks on them.
  21. I looked for this video but couldn't find it...
