    Its rated up to 6oz...i used it for throwing jig hook type baits...never thrown a deps 250 on it...

    For those of you that own the Dobyns 807. i know the lure ratings is 3-10 oz. and Dobyns rods are way exaggerated. i wanna know what is the sweet spot on this rod. i know its a hudd rod and great for jig hooks style and that is what i want. i just need to know if it could handle 6.5oz to 7+ oz baits such as the Defiant trout or the new Mattlures trout...thx in advance...     Actually got it this past saturday...pretty fast took only 3 days...got to throw it around for half the day...thing is a beast of a lure tho

    Hey guys thanks for you replies...btw I did end up hitting Diamond Vally Lake today...it was my first time ever throwing a swimbait...anyways I threw the mattlures ultimate gill today...got smashed and instantly hooked into a giant...i reeled down and got the fish to the boat...and then you know what happens from here when you ain't got a net...it was A DD for sure...my buddy tries to land it with his hands...but the fish jumps out and spits my gill out...i just watched as i saw it swim back to the depths...

    Hey Underground, just wondering what you all throw during summer fishing with big swimbaits. I live out in Southern California and its freaking hot out here...lol...anyways do you prefer swimbaits during the summer months and if so do you throw a shad or bluegill imitation? Thanks in advance.

    I just picked up one of these reels...at the same time i bought a tranx 301...they are about the same size...the a3 feels a bit smaller in hands...havent got to fish it but will report back when i do...
