  1. And then there are dude's like us that actually fish them, and want the back-stock for when they inevitably get chewed... Glad to see them more available. It took a while to get my first citizen, and now it lives on a rod 24/7.
  2. I missed my alarm that I set for them, and checked about 5 minutes after 6 pm to see if there was even a chance. To my surprise, I picked up another pack of 6's, and a pack of 7's. Militia is hands down my favorite color up here.
  3. I try to match the hatch where I go, but I will switch up the forage throughout the day unless they key in on something specific. Up north here it's Perch, Bluegill, Trout, and salmon smolt in the late spring/early summer. I have a few REALLY loud colored glides (Chartreuse, Hot Pink, etc...) that I will throw when the water is off color, or I just need a reaction. I'd say if I only had to pick 2 color schemes in my neck of the woods, it would be a clear baitfish, and a perch. It looks like you're from NJ, so you're probably in the same boat.
  4. Been using the S-Waver 120 for a while in a few inlets and outlets on some of my lakes here in WA. It absolutely crushes some of the bigger rainbows. Still haven't tried a 70 though!
  5. WAD3 in the bluegill color. Strung it up once, and test swam it. Basically brand spanking new. I'll toss in a couple extra tails as well. Would love a trade for TK's, K9 (I'll toss in a little extra cash), pretty much anything perch colored, or whatever else you guys got. I'll sell it for $145 TYD, (retail + shipping) but trades come first.
  6. Congrats on the stud smallie! Absolutely my favorite way to catch 'em!
  7. Just get rid of all sonar while we're at it! Seriously though, going from paper graphs, to flashers, to CHIRP, to Down Imaging, then Side-Imaging, to 360, to Live, where do you draw the line? I can tell you that livescope can be just as frustrating as it can be useful. I don't have it on my boat, but have fished with it a few times. Fish will always be fish.
  8. Wade Hoggs, and the Bucca Bull Gill. Two completely different actions for 2 different applications. Both crush fish. If you want a glide, the Sly Guy replica gill is hard to beat as well.
  9. Diggin' It! Great work on some solid river 'eyes!
  10. I got 2 packs of Militia 6's. Stoked to finally try them out.
  11. There are some GIANTS in the Columbia. I plan on spending most of my time on Potholes or Moses Lake, as I've had a ton of success on chatterbaits and crankbaits while smallmouth fishing, but I'm going to chuck a few perch baits and Kokanee for sure. I've got a pretty good plan, but swimbait fishing rarely goes to plan!
  12. This is so sick... I can't wait to target some big walleye this year on swimbaits. I've caught plenty as bycatch on conventional stuff, but now I want to chase them.
  13. I'm going to try and Target some eye's this year in WA. I've got a few things I want to try, but I can only imagine how cool that would be! Congrats on a great fish battling those horrible conditions!
  14. Thanks man! It might just be the Smallie of a lifetime for me. I don't want to believe that, and keep pushing for a bigger one! I'll keep grinding for sure. 2022 is the year to break my PB largemouth of 7-9. It can be done!
  15. I have been lucky enough to fish with my dad my entire life. I'm almost 30 now, but it took about 3 years of fishing big baits before my dad caught on. He always scoffed at the big stuff, but a couple very special days changed that. I was so excited when he had a few S-waver 168's on the deck of his boat. He loves seeing my new baits, but still has a hard time justifying the cost. I won't change his ways, but he has a healthy respect for it now. OP, just keep doing your thing. Eventually it'll just be money.
  16. I finally got talked into buying my first Wade Hoggs this year, and I had confidence from the very beginning. Played around more with soft baits, but my #1 confidence bait of 2021 was a Sly Guy replica shiner in the perch color. It just gets bit in my waters.
  17. Broke my PB smallmouth today by over a pound! Hudd 68 in 44° water up here in Washington State. 1st cast with the Hudd, and only bite of the day in horrible conditions. This is why we do it! 6lbs 5oz even after spitting up baby bluegill in the net.
  18. Hey SU, I'm in search of a good perch colored hard bait. Glide or Crank, doesn't matter. I already have a Sly Replica Shiner in Yellow Perch, but would love to add more to my arsenal. My first hope would be a TK perch, but I am open to anything else that you might have! I would be willing to trade the following for the right bait, (Toxic WAD3, Toxic Wade Hoggs, Sly 9" Chrome Kokanee, Sly 7.5" Winter Gill, or a TK Lo Joythief) If trades don't suit your fancy, I have cash as well. I live up here in the PNW, and would be excited to get another perch bait or 2. Thanks!
  19. I placed in a tournament by converting followers on the glide by deadsticking a fluke... If I don't have time to come back later, I pretty much always have a fluke or senko on deck to follow up. Seems to work for me if I just want to get bit!
  20. That's a beast of a Wade fish! Love when they are active enough for you to see commotion before the eat...
  21. Wake bites are the best! Great fish my dude!
  22. The tried and true Rainbow Trout, and the Perch. I'm over here in WA, and I just assume every body of water here has one or the other... I've caught more on the trout than the perch, but my biggest smallmouth all come on the perch. Just pick one or 2 and throw it until your arm falls off! Good luck over in Montucky
