Thanks guys! Means a lot. Seems like paint comes out better every time I do it. That top bait is the first thing I’ve ever airbrushed in my life and now I’m doing half way decent Shad patterns. I love it!

I’ve been making baits for a pretty short time now but I’m pretty happy with my progress. Here are some of the baits in order of the first bait I ever made to the most recent and everything in between. Let’s hear some constructive criticism! the videos just for fun. I made it a slow sinker but after clear coat it’s perfectly neutral. It won’t come to the surface but it doesn’t sink to or touch the bottom of the bucket either... kinda cool IMG_4151.MOV

Now that’s what I’m talking about. You’re the man! any smooth-on products in particular that have worked for you? I’ve been eyeing the eco flex
-
There are so many brands and types of urethane though! Give me a make and model haha

Hey guys I’m new to bait building and I’ve been loving it! But, I’ve been searching high and low to find any kind of definitive answers on what the heck to use for a translucent tail for a glide bait! Haha. I’m hoping some of you guys will share the secret and then it will be on the forum for the next guy that goes searching too! Thanks in advance. im just looking to get a translucent tail that’s somewhat rigid/durable but still soft. Basically the tail any glide bait ever made comes with. I’ve been scavenging spare tails until now

The joint is much more open than it looks in the pic. The joint is pushed closed in the pic but it allows pretty close to 45° Maybe more. It walks really tight and on a straight steady retrieve even fast it walks right in. I think I’m going to make a couple of these so I can have a color variety

Holy crap did I get lucky. Tried the bait without a lip before painting or anything just for a test swim and third cast got smashed from under the dock!! This thing swims like a dream. I’ll update with a swim video tomorrow if I can get out. Tonight was too dark to film so i could only get a crappy clip the glide action wile holding a flashlight and a phone and a rod haha. The bait looks even better on a steady retrieve and sits just a couple inches under water. Hopefully some paint tomorrow too what are you guys using for a clear coat?? IMG_3692.MOV

Welp hopefully I’ll get some free time soon to finish sanding and paint. For the first bait I’ve ever made I’m not too upset about how it turned out. Still have to seal the lead holes and do a lot more fine sanding but I like it. The action I want is a extremely low float and to be able to crank it a little deeper if I want so I might still add a lip depending on the action when I test swim it. Either way I’m gonna play with it and use it as a learning experience. A fish would be a great bonus though. Also FEEDBACK IS SO WELCOME! Give me some constructive criticism. I’m here to learn

Selling my Roman made mother (Color-Chiayu). It’s got the lightest hook rash ever to the point I almost question if that’s even what it is. The thing’s pretty much immaculate and beautiful. I’ve removed the hooks to avoid any more poking. I’m asking $400 and I’m money grabbing rn so no trades sorry. PP friends and family or pay the fees. Shipping’s included in the price. This is my first time selling here so I know I’m still suspicious until proven otherwise. not sure how to prove myself trustworthy but it you’ve got any ideas let me know haha. If you’re near santa margarita lake CenCal HMU and we’ll meet up I know you don’t wanna hear my sob story but I’m selling because I’ve got wayyy too much money in rods and baits this year and just can’t afford to get a rod to handle this big girl at the moment. I’m sure I’ll rearm myself in the future with a custom rod and have to buy another mom but for now i need the $$$ thanks for coming to my yard sale.

Coming along. Got a handful more but, that’s most of them. Hopefully this fall is good to me >{(((*> . Shoot, for that matter hopefully next couple weekends are good. Hitting new melone lake for the first time probably work the mini battles Shad pretty hard
