I’ve been making baits for a pretty short time now but I’m pretty happy with my progress. Here are some of the baits in order of the first bait I ever made to the most recent and everything in between. Let’s hear some constructive criticism! the videos just for fun. I made it a slow sinker but after clear coat it’s perfectly neutral. It won’t come to the surface but it doesn’t sink to or touch the bottom of the bucket either... kinda cool IMG_4151.MOV

Learned a new stinger hook rig from a buddy of mine tonight and thought i would share. I usually run 130+ lb single strand, but this time I wanted to try the braid method. 65 lb daiwa j-braid ST36 Treble SD Jam knot (7 turns) around the jig hook - pass braid through the treble, back around the jig hook, back through the treble and synch it down with 8-10 half fitches and on your final hitch make it a tripple. On the jig hook knot I burned the tag down, as well as the final half hitch. Finally, rather than jamming the hook into the bait I used a small cut paperclip to pin the treble so that all points could remain exposed. Hopefully this helps someone else!

Hey guys, I'd like to share some pics of my progress on a trout glide over the last couple years. It came out to be 9.5" and 4.75oz with 1/0 st-36's. It has reinforced swivel hook hangers and a urethane rubber tail. The carving was from basswood. After I managed to get it swimming to my liking, I realized the carving lines got a little jacked up from sanding bondo and molding it so many times. I wanted the bait to be flawless so I reached out to Jake at row innovations to have him clean up some carving lines and make both sides of the bait symmetrical. He was a blast to work with! I highly recommend him to any bait maker. Right now I'm just trying to perfect my airbrushing skills. I had a shoebox full of failed versions of the bait so I've been learning to paint on those. I've only tried trout patterns so far. I want to try a carp color but I'm just locked in on trout its hard to learn another pattern. I've recently sent a few baits to friends for testing purposes. No fish reported yet; just a lot of followers and a couple that managed to shake the hooks. I'm curious to see how the paint/clearcoat holds up. I'm not using cheap products, so I have high hopes. Well thanks for reading and looking guys! So far I'm enjoying this whole bait making thing. It's been a hell of a learning experience but I think I'll stick with it!

got this nice fish the other day fishing from shore at a public lake. trout season just opened here on the 13th so lots of trout have been stocked and the water is filled with 4 pound test and worms galore haha. walked past 15 chairs and a few stringers of trout and found a nice overhanging tree to toss under. tied on the 8" slow sink savage gear line thru trout (rigged on top) and started skipping it under the tree. few casts later i felt her on the line as i came past some logs in the water. full of eggs and only went 3.2 but it felt great!
