So as the title suggests I'm diving into the world of swim baits, I have some cheaper ones like the s waver and gantarel and such but I'm looking to get a MS slammer I haven't decided on 7 or 9 yet or what color. I live in Alabama with no trout stocked lakes near me. just need some input on the most versatile colors and sizes that I can fish night and day. Thanks

Hit a large river with Northeast_trev last night but the main river current was way up so we pushed up a side channel to a small pond. It was warm but overcast and a bit windy so the perfect night for topwater it was not. Casted into the opening and cranked back out. She hammered the 7" bass slammer and went 5.6 for over a pound over my last swimbait PB.

I was thinking about picking up a few ms slammers to target stripers in trout stocked lakes. I know that they are tried and true lmb baits but was unsure of their striper catching abilities. Am I wrong to think they are good striper baits? Also, if you do recommend them for stripers, have you found better success with the 2 or 3 piece slammers?

This was my first swimbait fish. Caught it on a 9 inch ms slammer. This fish didn't even get hooked, it got stuck on a piece of grass that I got caught.

After hitting the mixed-species waters hard for the last few weeks (i.e., chasing walleyes and bass), I decided to take a break and just focus on bass for an evening. Launched the 'toon around 7:45 PM and immediately felt that soaking sensation that indicated a leak in one leg of my waders - aarrghh! Decided to stick it out until either the water level inside the wader leg crept up to danger-close territory or the fish stopped biting. Anyway, to make a long story short (not that it was going to be long anyway), I started off throwing the baby possum but it was not getting attention. I then switched to the 9" Slammer and managed to get it blasted as I waked it around some isolated weed patches. The sole fish of the night burrowed into the weeds, but I was able to coax her out, courtesy of the 65# braid. She went 4-8 on the digital scale, which I remembered to bring, but I didn't get a good picture because my camera was something I didn't remember to bring. I risked popping out the phone for a quick picture and didn't drop the phone in the drink. After another hour the water level in the leaking leg was getting a bit uncomfortable, so I bailed. NO other bites that night, but I'm definitely going back - I might even use the 'toon to "Carve" some strategic feeding lanes in the weeds by day for me to cast into by night. I'm hoping that the fall bite continues to kick out the occasional decent fish, along with a string of cookie cutter 2s and 3s to keep me twitchy!
