Headed out this morning at 4 am to try to work up a topwater bite with only one dink to show for it. Tied up the 8 inch hudd and started working the bank. Caught my first one by accident, 2~ lbs thinking I was caught in grass. Slowly working my way towards a deep rock point. Bomb the hudd out and mess on my phone for a minute, completely ready to call it a day, I make one handle turn and BOOM. I swing, grind her to the boat, go to flip her and my rod snaps (yea I know it was stupid but I panicked) reach down and grab her she was pinned great and wasn’t going anywhere. Beyond stoked this fish, this spring has kicked my ass so far, this being my first fish over 3 pounds lol. Put her in the well let her breath and took my measurement and sent her off. 8.6 pounds 23.75 in length x 17 inch girth

Hey guys, After being in the swimbait world for a few years now I have had the opportunity to throw my fair share of Huddlestons and catch plenty of trophy fish. Now that I've had the opportunity to explore more baits I've found that the Baitsmith has basically the same design as the Hudd. However, the Baitsmith costs a lot more than the Hudd so I'm wondering if they have any specific differences that make one better than the other, and if so what do you guys prefer to throw? Received bait with chip on the nose and little scratch on the top. Other than that the bait looks great. 280 Deps 250 Slide Swimmer SS BB carp. The bait has light use with a few hook points. Went out this morning and threw a 68 black gizzard Shad ROF 5 around. This is only the second time I’ve thrown a Huddleston. Within about 10 minutes I was hooked up. Caught a 4.12. Most vicious bite I’ve had fishing for largies. Hooked another but came off.
