Winter is coming to the Darkest Continent so I've been making a few baits: I'm trying to get my wife into the Swimbait Addiction so made a smaller Twerk for her. We'll be throwing the His and Her Combo tomorrow Sent this new Shad Twerk pattern went to the States a few weeks ago. It's a pity we don't get shad here. The smallies have been hammering my slammer/pats style bait. I was fishing it 'naked' but put a trout wrap on it yesterday. Bit of a rush job but it came out ok. Very disappointing to get the news that the super hot exclusive venue we had permission to fish on Saturday has been closed down by the farmer - he caught some ?*&%er poaching in his trout pens during the week. Been trying for years to get access...so frustrating. Lastly a copy of the Heddon Mouse for a friend who brought my new Dobyns back from the states with him. He lost his and can't find another one. Happy to report he's already got plenty of teeth marks on it.

Been a few posts about swim shots and buoyant baits on Double Fluke Rig so thought I'd do quick video of the Twerk coming though some timber. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HL5ULnTebY

I was chatting to a friend about that pros and cons of a new bait he was fishing. Coincidentally I have been working on a bait that had all the pros and none of the cons. It was originally designed to track the bottom by fishing it on a Caroliner rig. It is buoyant but gets pulled to the bottom by Caroliner weight. When retrieved it bounces nicely along or just above the bottom in a tantalizing s-wave. When paused the bait rests horizontally at the height of the leader. If you fish it on an unpegged weight you can control the height the bait rests at and even make it dart to the bottom and float back up a few inches to make it look like it is feeding off the bottom. Turns out that fished weightless it make a great wake bait as well. Jointed wooden glidebait, 130cm / 5.5inches and 2 ounces (wrapped/foiled). I placed the hooks on top to avoid snagging. They are held in place with a simple harness system (patent pending lol). Swim video at : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJSqkXRnvo8
