I am going to buy 6/0 and 8/0 beast hooks to see what I like better. What mods would you make, I so far plan on doing the glass rattle in the tail. But I am looking for other tips and tricks that aren't in the WCZ videos.
  4. Today I was able to make my maiden voyage on my kayak. Went out to one of the bigger lakes here in my area and had no clue what to do. I started with my gancraft 230 and had a few follows. Switched up and tied on the citizen, second cast had this chunk inhale it 10 feet in front of my kayak. Lucky I was standing so I was able to watch the whole thing happen! The water clarity was about 15’. Such an awesome experience, and now I have the confidence to go back out next week and chase the elusive 10lber! One day I’ll find her! Hope you all are having a good day SU fam! IMG_1717.MOV

    Sweet 16

Usually don't mess with the tourney scene to much anymore. When I qualified early for the Swimbait Underground Battle I needed something to keep me tuned in the rest of the year. That's when I decided to hit a few tournaments just to see if I still had game. (since I'm a old fart) and also being a boat capitan for the High School Team for the year, it has occupied my time well. Ending the 2016 year was a good tournament year for me but not so much for the DD bass compared to last year. Last year was a freak year and I knew that. Fishing for 5 good fish is a little different mind set than fishing for one trophy fish. We can attribute that to not having as many DD bass, it's just a different game. With five nice bass in the over column this year so far and very grateful for that. More 7-9's bit and I'm not complaining one bit. These kept me plenty busy with the swimbait. There were grind it out days and very easy days you just had to stay at it. All in all it was fun time! Here are some bag weights from 2016 all swimbait fish. Baits used: Triple trout, 3:16 mission fish, 3:16 weedlessrising son, Rising son, 3:16 Bluegill glide, 3:16 Gizzard Glide, 3:16 Workhorse Glide, 3:16 Minnow, 3:16 FS Trout, 3:16 FS Shad, 3:16 Wakes Note: anytime I needed a fish the 7" Shad Mission fish paid off every single time. Rod Choice: Moam Psycho 8'6", Moam Psycho 8'3", Moam Lunatic 8'3", Moam Maniac 8' Reel Choice: Abu Garcia Toro Beast, Abu Garcia Beast , Shimano Conquest 300, Shimano 300 D with 102mm swept Hawgtec carbon handles and Winn grips Line Choice: Sunline Shooter 30lb. and Seaguar Invis-x floura 20-25lb Big Bass Board: Working Class Zero Gear: Swimbait Underground, Moam Performance apparel, Huk
  11. Took four months to get my First DD of the year. Finally get to mark the Tule Green Working Class Zero Big Bass Board with a DD. She was 10.10 lbs. and 25.25 in length. Fishing mid day on a mid lake ridge with the weightless hook Weedless Rising Sun in the James Caldemayer Special Color (JCS). Counting it down then a slow retrieve to get hooked up. All I felt was a thump and set the hook. It didn't take long too know it was a good one as soon as I felt her power..She headed stright up jumped once trying to throw the weedless rising son but that was not happening today. Those are the moments you never forget when they break the surface and you can see the beautiful beast... Moam Lunatic did fine work solid hookset, and landing her straight in the net.
  12. Got my new WCZ Big Bass Board ready for the 2016 Trophy hunt this year. Still looking for the first DD. Going back over my notes from last year. We went from record low lake levels too pretty much flooded here the first part of the year during the peak Big Fish window. Most lakes were closed it was a mess. Once the water cleared and stabilized fishing picked up. Here is a Pic of the Old and New Board. I would like to do this every year "retire" a Big Bass Board The 2015 Board is hung up in my office now and its as good as having the actual fish there to me. I've never had a Bass mounted, just pics and video. This is my Trophy Board. I may never have another season like 2015. But have high goals to break it. There is also a fish marker on there for one that was lost. That is to remind me of what not to do in a big fish battle! Never stare up at success very long set new goals and go hard to acheive them.
