Jinxd12
Getting better over here. Got a wake that swims money, and been catching fish consistently on my purple crank down out in open water, along the bank, and day or night. Super happy with it. I have a crank painted up for a buddy, once he gets a fish or 2 on it I'll send some to the homies. Tomorrow hope to try out the night rider wake. BayAreaAngler
These are sick! How can I get one or help with testing? I’ll pay for one Jinxd12
Jinxd12
Missed a good fish this morning blew up out of the water, but I was scratching my ass and missed it. Had the adrenaline shakes for 10 minutes after that. I did land a fish, and also broke my lip off. I have lots of errant casts in the dark smashing the rock walls in the ponds. Hasn't been an issue until this morning, I may revisit the depth I insert the lip. Or maybe I won't idk. The piece broke very clean so I'll reglue it today and fish it again tomorrow. Swim is super sick, I'll change the line tie location a little lower so the bait can be fished a little faster. Other than that super happy with it. Actually a little proud of these things! As for getting one, I need/want to get a few to the couple dudes that have helped me out @chefchris and @BrierBob 1st. After that I'll see what I can do! Jinxd12
I glued the broken piece back together. Fished it for a little over an hour this morning and caught 3 fish. One good fish. At this point I think I'll be able to replicate the crank and the wake. I'll order some materials so I can learn to make my own tails as needed. Jinxd12
Got some baits poured today, 1 by 1 takes forever but good enough for now! Prepping a few over the weekend to send to the homies!
Jinxd12
I have 1 more to prep before send I g them on their way. Want out this morning after changing the tail from a brush to a soft plastic and landed a good fish on the crankdown 4.66#. Also tinkered with a 3 piece wake, swims pretty good, need to clean the joints up but I'll try it out before work tomorrow. Jinxd12
This bait continues to catch fish. The crankdown is killing it every day in resin white and my buddies darker color. Sent a few baits to the homie @chefchris so hoping he can get some east coast fish on them. Inkedup fishing
Jinxd12
Been working on this one alot lately. Deep deep divers, better crank downs and wakes, better weighting for each setup. I also cut the master and made 2 molds front/back. Doing this sped up the processes substantially. During this process I added swivel hangers and cleaned up the joints before molding. Got an air brush for Father's Day so I've been messing with that. Lots of trial and error and videos, and helpful pointers from a couple members here. First bait painted was not so good, bit got a fish on it so didn't matter! Also poured some new tails with a lighter color and glitter. Might go with a light blue next time. Here's some pics of my processes. Still catching fish with each modification as well. Haven't been putting eyes on them just to save on some materials while I'll try out paint/and new molds. Jinxd12
Still making this bait better! And feel like I'm getting better with the paint, nothing fancy yet, but @azfisherand @BrierBobare helping me out with some tricks! Thanks fellas! @Inkedup fishingsent me a war pig so I'm sending him one of these in a wake version. Got it painted and trying out the KBS Diamond clear coat dip, without a rotisserie. I have a bunch of these made now so I need to add lips and paint them up. Not sure if I should sell a couple for cheap if anyone wants them, or keep giving them to the peeps. I have been catching good fish on the crank down here in Az even when it's 110+ degrees, but it sucks fishing in the heat. Body gets sticky, stinky, and dehydrated haha. Here some pic updates. Jinxd12
More updates. @azfisherconvinced me into building vac stencils. I built a box out of plywood I had kicking around. Took me a few times to figure out the whole process, I need more stencil materials I'll grab this weekend. The stencil comes out the exact shape of the bait so once I get a design I am happy with it will be repeatable which is badass. Especially since I'm learning to paint as I go. Trying out the KBS diamond, mixed results as I learned how and what is needed. Videos help but doing it yourself is a lot different. I did the brush method 1st try with no rotisserie. Results were missed spots and ugly finish. So that method is out the window. I did a dip and hang on the wall, better results but I could tell a rotisserie would keep things more consistent. The finish had chunks where ever lowest part was hanging. Not a deal breaker but I have higher expectations. Went and bought a grill rotisserie at Lowe's for $40. To get it to fit my needs for now I drilled 5/32nd holes in the square shaft just big enough to hold a tek screw tight. I tek screwed through .58cent clips I had from home Depot. It all works great, I like the slow speed it turns at, this weekend I will get to making an actual base for it instead of a 25# weight holding one side and a tek screw holding the motor side haha. Final results on the 1st 2 baits is excellent, I have another 2 spinning all night so an update tomorrow on those. Inkedup fishing
He'll yeah brother!! Love the vac box I always wanted to make one of them. I would always by them stencils when I was painting cranks like crazy and there so good to stay consistent with paint. You might have just convinced me to make mine. Lol what did you use boat shrink rap or thin white lexan poly?? But your killing it man!! Jinxd12
Jinxd12
I used blank stencil material from hobby lobby. I have a few ideas of what else can be used. Hitting up hobby lobby today to stroll through and look at stuff that can be used. I want to try and make a few different patterns. Craw, koi, people like perch so even though there is none here in Az I'll give it a try. Got some new dye in and made a few colors of tails. Got my last 2 painted baits cleared this week. The clear makes things so much brighter! I also instead of waiting paint into a container, my wife has metal flowers hanging up outside. They are sun bleached or worn out, so I hung one up next to where I'm spraying. Kind of helps trying lines/blending/spray distance also. If she is happy so I am I haha.
