It finally went down on the @swimbaitunderground x kurouto lures monster crawler!!!  After catching a ton of fish last year on the monster crawler, some of which were the biggest of the year, I felt like I had a lot of potential on that same bait this year…  well it didn’t take long!

While on FaceTime with my wife and daughter who had just woken up, I tossed the crawler out and brought it over the end of a submerged tree that was about 20 feet off the bank and in about 12 feet of water.  It wasn’t a giant explosion by any means, just a little slurp but I knew it was a good one right away.  It surged one quick time at the boat (see the bent hook in the first pic), but I got it back and got it in the net and the rest was history…  such a sweet bonus to do it with the fam on the phone!

Fish went 22.25 inches (not my longest which is 24.25) and weighed 7lb10oz

Great fish. How finicky is that crawler? I had a monka 1 piece before and caught a ton of fish on it but I got tired of having to fix the wings every 5th cast.

Out the gate they’re great. They’ll eventually get out of whack and have to tune them. Only really get bad if you “crease” the metal of the wing at which point it always wants to bend at that spot. Favorite crawler I’ve used though, personally I wasn’t a huge fan of the monkas I had.
