chevro1et
I can see the East Sea from my apartment, yet I choose to travel 90min+ inland to fish for largemouth. I'm seriously considering trying my luck in the brackish tidal river that empties into one of the harbors. Need some basics on line / leader recommendations and most importantly, maintenance for gear that will go back and forth between salt and fresh. Reel will likely be my Lew's Super Duty 300. Scoop
Can you provide more info. types of fish you'll be targeting, types of lures and structure etc. But personally for salt water fishing i run braid (power pro) and my brand of choice for leaders is seaguar. A good rinse on gear used after each use.
xSoCalBassKingx
Fresh water bath after every trip 100%. Every few trips take the reel apart and clean with a qtip and regrease. Idk what kinda fish you’ll be targeting but fish your leader accordingly. I live on the west coast and we will fish 65lb braid to 40lb flouro if we are fishing deep kelp or deep rocks. In the harbors, 12lb flouro works great chevro1et and kookfarmer
chevro1et
@Scoop @xSoCalBassKingx Thanks for getting back to me fellas. I got in touch with Shane Morgan on IG and had a pretty good chat. Got everything figured out, at least to get me started.
