Tatula 300 arrived last night and LDC arrived today so had to introduce them right away. Haha.

Last build for probably a year. Another UC Swimbait Finatic blank, Fuji titanium guides, alps aluminum double trigger seat, and American Tackle carbon handle with small EVA gripper section. Made it mainly for throwing my deep crank but it’ll see action with other similar size baits.

I replaced my small swimbait setup this week. This will be my 1-3oz combo with 50lb braid and a 25lb leader. 

Kaimana Coastal 794 with a 21 Scorpion DC. The reel has a 96mm Curado 70 MGL handle and the power knobs from the Exsense DC SS.

This is the first expensive reel I ever bought. It was 2002 and I was working construction over summer from high school. Had a stretch of working 7-12s so when I got my first “big” paycheck I blew a majority on this thing. 20 years later now and it’s finally starting to age. Was using it a couple weeks ago on a hot bite and the handle knob shaft just plain snapped. It’s caught calicos, sandies, spotties, largemouth, my PB yellowtail, even an SD smallmouth at Barrett. 
 

I’ll swap out the handle but other than that this thing is with me till I die, regardless of all the other fancy stuff I pick up along the way.

How do you like the seat?  I about had one sold to a customer, but went a different route.

I like it quite a lot actually. I might add some cork tape under the reel foot in order to lengthen the gap from the hood to the first trigger but other than that’s it’s really comfy.

Yup. This was back in college days I believe (2002-2007). There’s a picture of it floating around somewhere. Probably 2-on range. Fished there a lot with my brother and our friend and that’s the only smallie we ever came across.
