Been a pretty brutal one this year in central Texas and haven’t gotten to get out much with wedding planning and such. Went for my bachelor trip weekend with the boys this last weekend and finally made it happen. Numerous 3s and 4s on the flee shad and wake walker but couldn’t get over the 5lb mark. Mid day at 97 degrees, the moon set, and windy conditions. Casted off a steep rock bank from my paddle board with wcz citizen 7 and let it sink for a few seconds and started the retrieve. Just 15 feet out from the board I saw the fish come up on the bait and express interest. I gave it two hard pops and a speed up and she engulfed it. Thankfully got her on the board after some wrangling and she went 7.3 lbs.
