let me tell you how this plays out...

 

you may or may not catch a fish on a duck chew toy, but that was just your dad's way of telling you that he isn't buying a bass boat. At a minimum, it gets you to leave him alone while you try and then when you catch one he laughs at you and tells you to buy your own.

Little does your dad know that if you actually do this (which if you're already making glides and rats, should be no problem if you're creative) then you'll have learned to take a chew toy and turn it into something that catches fish, which can be far more valuable than a bass boat IMO.

 

Fill it with resin or balasts and foam, carefully put some hardware on it (cemented into the foam or resin) and you should be all set. Model it after your rats that you mentioned that you've made.

 

Like Colby said, should be easiest bass boat you ever get. Even if you'll have to wait until you're older to own it yourself. Oh and don't dilly-dally! Get to work on the quack attack and keep us posted!
