Bigtex9
Guys, I just got two new 250's, and one tracks to the side. It barely glides to one direction, and glides hard to the other. It still looks pretty good on the half reel, but won't slow roll hardly. When holding the bait vertical, the tail falls farther to one side than the other. It seems like I could trim a sliver off the soft skin on one side to give it symmetry. Anybody have any experience with this issue, and advice on tuning it? I've seen alot of discussions on tuning weighting, but not so much on tuning the glide. Thank you in advance. Baitmonkey
JustinHill
I wouldn't trim the skin. sounds like the hinge pins are bent. try with a pair of needle nose to push it over to the side that has more travel.
TRafferty
Is the tail bent or is the tail section of the bait not centered with the head section? swimbait 24/7 and csparrow12
biggfeast
I don't think trimming the skin will be a good idea. If you could post pics of the bait held vertically that might help.
thedonnguyen
pics will definitely help
Top Ramen
I'm guessing from your user name you're in Texas but your profile doesn't list a city. if you're in Austin, message me and I'll take a look at it for you. Bigtex9
Here are pics of the widest tail swing either way.
doublezman
Yep got the same issue going on.. Skin is cut weird and doesn't let it glide to one side fully.
thastickybandit
maybe hit up optimum and see if they will replace it?
SPEEDBEAD
Try shifting the skin around on the body to make the two sides equal. I wouldn't cut it. swimbait 24/7 and LUV-2-CATCH'EM
Bigtex9
I emailed Ichiban to see if they could replace it. If I have to foot the bill to ship this one to Japan, and ship it back, then I will give Optimum a try. Thank you for the recommendation
Bigtex9
Ichiban tackle referenced some documents from the Deps web site that suggested gently bending the line tie with needle nose pliers to correct the action. They said in most cases that fixes the issue. I haven't tried it yet, but I will provide feedback once I do.
sickboytfc13
I'd almost be afraid of cracking the plastic when bending the line tie.
Bigtex9
I just realized that is a silent killer in the pic, but my issue is with a slide swimmer. I wonder if the line tie adjustment is even a legit fix for a bait without a bill? Low&Slow
danthefisherman
I think I heard somewhere that the slide swimmer is made from the same mold as the silent killer, so I'm assuming the fix is meant for both? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I have neither, so I wouldn't know.
