BrutusBassin
I am just starting to fish big baits and want to buy a couple of huds. I don't have many trout where I fish in North Texas. What size and color bait should i get? BrutusBassin
basssavage24/7
They will eat a trout hudd even if there is no trout in your water. I use all sizes of hudds i use the 6 inch for smallies and trout and use the 8 inch for largemouth and monster brown trout. The state record lmb is 10lbs 15 oz here I still throw 10 to 12 inch baits and in your state you got a shot a teener so I would just buy the baits you can throw all day with your equipment. Flyingnose703
I got my confidence in hudds by throwing a 68 special weedless perch this year. Ive had the most luck on the 68 weedless, but that's because I fish it the most. I just got an 8inch trout that I'm excited to throw, but the snow is flying today in NE so I do t think I'll get to use it for a while- it'll be really good in the spring. d-camarena
I think the 68 special is your best bet. The weedless version.
